PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Concerns with new pc

The rubber stopper is on the bracket and I've changed the height and placement of it but it still doesn't really make contact with the card, unless I really push it up, which I would prefer to avoid. Here's a video to show it's current state (with the stopper supposedly making contact)

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Concerns with new pc

So I've only managed to set my new PC up and there's a couple of things that concern me: 1. Temperatures - Is this normal? I would expect a brand new rig would be a lot cooler. That being said, it is the summer and the sun shines in my office for most of the afternoon but still.... 2. GPU...

Ok so looking at the requirements recommendations, all my software hovers around 8-16GB, Substance Designer is highest at 32GB (with "Optimal" being 64GB), Marvelous Designer recommends 16GB (32GB or more if using multiple programs, which I will). UE5 recommends 8GB, though the PCs Epic use are...

So I've 'downgraded' my 4TB Barracuda to a 2TB Barracuda, I figured my current PC has a 1TB storage drive and I've only used half, mainly due to that I've got a mini NAS for home use so I don't really need a whopping 4TB HDD. If I need more I could just plug my current one in. That does allow me...

I have no idea what you just said haha :D Assuming the B650 AORUS ELITE AX is the better choice given the options to expand if I wanted to? Plus the integrated Wifi

What would you recommend? It's a choice between changing the mobo to a Gigabyte one to accommodate 2 sticks of RAM (whether that adds up to 32GB or 64GB?) or stay with the Asus mobo and wait til the 4x16GB ram is available?

Well I'd just like to futureproof it for the long haul, I'm not one to upgrade every few years, I mean I bought my current PC back in 2014 and I only started to feel the need to get a new one recently haha But in any case, the option for 4x16GB has disappeared 😩 so guess I'll wait a few days to...

Ok one more sanity check (maybe :D). Given the 4x16GB RAM in the build and @sck451 comment, is the combination that bad? Or is it just that there are better combinations of RAM, AMD etc?

When you say 'a bit louder', is it noticeable or would I have to get a decibel meter? :D Hah to be fair I was thinking of when it started to make an appearance years and years ago

Haha I'll be honest I've always found RGB a bit tacky, but if not so in your face it can look pretty cool. So it's payday tomorrow so going to make final decisions and order tomorrow but the H115i Cappellix is in stock now. Is it better than the h150i or is there not much difference?

So the H150i seems to be back in stock but now the question is that or the upgraded version 'ELITE CAPELLIX XT' :D

So waiting for payday but the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE RGB High Performance CPU Cooler (280W) is out of stock until mid June :( So what's the difference between that one, the downgrade of CORSAIR iCUE H100i ELITE RGB High Performance CPU Cooler (250w) or the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX XT...

Thanks for all the help everyone! Think I'm going to go for the AMD. Sounds like it's better for productivity which is what I'll primarily be using it for. Can I ask what the difference in thermal paste is? You've selected standard but for £9 is the arctic a big upgrade to it?

The AMD build only has the OC version of the GPU :( Here's the config links: Intel: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/intel-z790-ddr5-pc/2569359/ AMD: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/amd-am5-overclocked/2569608/ I've changed the cooler from the Capellix h100i to the h150i, but...
