Happy to report that my Ionico was fixed with the bios update (bios n.1.21A09 and EC 1.26.00.00):
- the fans work correctly when booting up the PC (no more the annoying ramp up even with the PC cold)
- the fan profiles are now fixed when installing the control center.
- also as a bonus it fixed...
It's just that updating the bios and EC is always something I don't like much because I always fear something might go wrong and brick the laptop.
Even thought I already did that procedure in previous laptops I had (2 Clevos), it's something I can't control and I like to make sure everything is...
I know. I just wanted to know the filenames and not to get the files. I wouldn't risk to do a bios update without PCS oversight because of the warranty, but since last time they confused my laptop with a Clevo I just wanted to make sure the files I receive from them are the correct ones.
But...
That's great news. Then the fix was faster than I thought.
Which Ionico do you have? It's an Ionico 15" with AMD cpu and nvidia 3070?
Mine has the Bios version N.1.13A04 and EC version 1.23.00.00 just like Dariusthered, so probably it's a bug from that version.
Nice (y)
ok, I just had a remote connection with PCS team.
It wasn't easy for them to understand the issue (i.e. they were telling me it was normal for the fans to be silent and agressive in turbo mode, no matter what I said about the fans not ramping up or down despite the temperatures).
But in the end...
Fortunately these profiles files are simply .json files (pretty much just plain text), so the risk of malware it’s pretty much low.
And the risk of damaging the hardware should also be low because I compared the files before replacing and the original files had the values pretty messed up with...
Hi Doomi, which bios/ec version do you have?
I have the bios version N.1.13A04 and EC version 1.23.00.00 and using the control center from PCS site doesn't work because it creates fan profiles that are broken as shown in images above (and I opened the files and the values are indeed messed up)...
Mine is also an AMD Ryzen 5900hx + nvidia rtx 3070
Unfortunately I wasn't still able to test the fan profiles fix.
If anyone, with an ionico with amd+rtx and control center with working custom fans, is able to share the "C:\Program Files\OEM\Control Center\UniwillService\MyControlCenter" folder...
CPU usage/temp sensor issue in control center is something that wouldn't bother me since there are other alternatives (I usually use HWinfo64).
But the fan issue is annoying because there isn't alternative, and they should at least work fine without control center. I mostly use windows, but I...
Hello, I've just checked and the sensors in my control center seem to be fine.
But still have the fan issue that now seems to be a bit worser than before due to the multiple installations/uninstallations of control center.
Previously I could use the PC silently without control center (ex: Linux...
Ok, I've contacted LVAN to try this fix. Probably it will work since the test Windows that PCS installed had it working fine.
I will update here if it works.
I've also contacted PCS team about this to know if there is already an official software or bios/ec update.
Thanks for the help
