I had rebooted earlier when I installed it. I tried rebooting again just now, but no difference. There aren't any more updates.

So I downloaded Realtek, but it has actually made me take a step backwards. The jack isn't being recognised again. It was recognised when it was the Microsoft ones, but it doesn't with Realtek. So it's obviously a fault with Realtek. Any ideas?

Yes, that seems to be it. It says Microsoft and 2 - High Definition Audio Device. When I search for Realtek I can't find anything besides "see web results", but it is listed in 'uninstall a program'.

It came with Windows 10 installed.
