The PCI slots are empty and the PCIExpress x16 slot is occupied by an SSD, so there is no grahics card.
I took the opportunity to vacuum the interior, but that has not solved anything.
I take your point about the age of the PC.
I was under the impression that Geforce 8200 was the name for the whole nVidia chipset on the motherboard, including graphics and the nForce Network Controller (which is what is causing me problems in practice). But when I have sent this, I will open up the case and look.

I have now downloaded the latest driver (dated Dec 2016) and installed it. The error icon on the coprocessor is still there but I will try restarting the PC to see if that helps.
The nVidia website lists about 20 different series of Geforce products including 6 and 600 but there is no mention of 6200. I also joined their forum and searched, but no result.
I am sorry to say that I have sent you the invoice for a different computer which I returned unused.
