PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Old spec HD upgrade needed

Your motherboard is ever so slightly different to mine, so o couldn't confirm it would definitely work. Someone with more knowledge might be able to tell you how to check. However, that is the slot. Here's mine.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Desktop Finance Question

Assuming nothing has changed in the last 6 weeks then yes, as that's essentially what I'm doing. Once your pc is shipped you can create an Hitachi account and make additional online payments by credit or debit card. Obviously you'll have to pay the £29 admin fee (once on your last payment) as...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Old spec HD upgrade needed

I installed an SSD in my old lafite, from memory the process was very straightforward. Earth yourself first by touching something metal and then it was just a case of undoing the screws and if I remember rightly there was easy access, take photos as you go if you remove anything and be organised.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Lafite III Review - First Impressions

So firstly the bad (which has little to do with the actual laptop now): Unfortunately the Lafite arrived with two stuck pixels on the screen and a slightly bent lid. Whilst to some degree I get the stuck pixels passing QC as it is still within tolerances it seems daft not to check when a...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Finance Interest Rebate

Hi all, Firstly, this is not financial advice, and might be wrong. But I've read a lot on here about the finance package and once you clear the 12 months your liable to the full interest for the term regardless of when you pay it off. When I got my documents nothing seemed to suggest that, what...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Uni Student Laptop Spec under £1000 all in, thoughts please. Thanks

Similar to all the above, weight is more important than you'd think. I'd avoid paying for office, most university's will give it free of you can wait until registration. Caveat: I'm on my send lafite and really like them, I'd do this: PCSPECIALIST.CO.UK SPECIFICATION The specification below...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Reassurance for the other half, advice required!

As mentioned above, the lafite is worth having a look at for travel. I've had an older one (and just ordered a new one!) and it's been great for travelling round with. You'll pay a touch extra for the same specs mind you. For what it's worth you can listen to music and use Dragon, I've got a...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Lafite III - Any suggested changes?

Thanks Oussebon. In the end did two 4gb sticks so they will play nice. I always say I'll upgrade the ram later and haven't for a long time - so I'll not assume I will this time. Worst case I'll just have to buy two 8gb sticks in a couple of years. Thanks for the heads-up on the drive, did some...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Lafite III - Any suggested changes?

Thanks. I was allowing myself to upgrade the RAM, will 12GB work in dual channel? Back in the day (whenever it was) you needed identical matched pairs for that to work? Yes, the software is legit. Better to think of it as a means of querying large databases of resources with relatively complex...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Lafite III - Any suggested changes?

Hi All, It's been a long time since I've done this, but my i3 4gb 13.3 lafite from 4/5 years ago is starting to struggle. I use it for office work, logos Bible software (recommended specs here, I think they overstate the need for graphics...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Future CPU upgrade - Lafite

Hey all, Does anyone know if I get the i3 on the Lafite now whether it would be upgradeable to the i5/i7, down the line (presuming I can still get the CPU chips? I don't need more than the i3 now, and there's a long delay on the i5's at the moment. I often upgrade every 4 years or so anyway...
