PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Recoil Series: 17.3" Matte QHD 165Hz

Custom laptops rarely have any good onboard speakers , just vanilla 2x1 or 2x2 watt cheap ones. If you look at MSI or Asus or even Apple on their more higher end models , they have really focused also on the onboard speakers . If I had to guess , it comes down to cost and design . My previous...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Laptop for CAD, 3D & Rendering

If you actually need the full 64 GB RAM , I`d suggest to buy them separate from the laptop, as the Ryzen 9 gives a healthy performance boost with SODIMM rated at 3200 Mhz . So order the laptop with the least amount of ram and then install the other kit yourself. I would also skip Bullguard as...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Opening up the 17.3" Ionico without a manual

I actually did move my old SSD from my old Asus ROG laptop to the Valeon for a short spell, and Windows were actually able to correct most of the erroneous drivers and devices . I was quite impressed , but I also agree with @SpyderTracks that it is unwise to do so for a permanent setup.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST High Temps on startup/idle

Also bear in mind that 11th gen Intel i7 and i9 CPUs are known to run hot in general , they are not as power effiicient as AMD Ryzen CPUs . So even a very well maintained and optimized laptop might see 85-90 degrees at load , sometimes a tad higher . This is expected and within tolerances of...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Opinion Please Guy's

I beg to differ here , a RTX 3080 MaxQ at what 80-100 watt ? Would be more closer to an desktop RTX 3060 or even somewhat lower due to TGP restrictions . While it has retained all of non MaxQ CudaCores and Tensor cores , it clocks way lower on both GPU and VRAM and TGP ( power budget ) is...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST What are you driving at the moment?

Ì wish I could participate but alas my Cayenne is dead and I`m still on the hunt for a nice BMW E38 740 . Not easy finding a lowish mileage left hand drive version with the specs I want .

Why not cross the UK ? Start in Dover and end in Scotland ... perhaps John O`Grots ?

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Potential gaming laptop (valeon vs recoil)

There will be new laptop models coming out soon with Intel Alder Lake 12th Gen CPU and DDR5 RAM and the newer GeForce RTX 3070 and 3080Ti GPU`s . AMD will at the same time also release the Ryzen 6000 series CPU which will also feature DDR5 RAM and these new nVidia GPU`s . Which one of these...

Those options were more common for the 750 than the 740 . Same with the rear phone and fax and audio control addon . Plus obviously the rear fridge with wine glasses and picnic tables :-)

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST What are you driving at the moment?

As my Porsche Cayenne is on it`s last leg atm and I`m looking to scrap it soon , I`m in the hunt for a replacement . The car I`m looking for is a 99-2001 BMW e38 740iAL . Probably the best 7-series BMW ever made besides the e32 . And I have a very specific equipment demand also , it has to have...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST PC for work

I would not pick a Zen2 based CPU ie 3000 series Ryzen as these are getting a bit dated as Zen3 is already released and gives overall better performance . Also the memory selected is not optimal for Ryzen CPUs as they work at their best with fast memory and I would suggest 3200 Mhz DIMMs...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Laptop for Photo Editing

The most important part for a photo and video editing laptop is a screen rated for close or at 100 % AdobeRGB as it´s colorspace is much wider than sRGB , also I`d say add a fast SSD and plenty of RAM to it as some apps can chew RAM like mad while editing the videos and photos. If Thunderbolt...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Real Users' Benchmarks - Rank of PCS Laptops

These are some really good scores to be honest :-) I`d guess that the bump in memory speed and size improved performance quite a bit also .

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Quietest and coolest 15.6

I think DTR is soon just going to be a legacy product , I mean neither MSI or Dell or even Asus is making true DTR`s anymore . MSI used to have their GT76 Dragon line of behemouth laptops , and Dell/Alienware with their Area 51 machines and finally Asus with their ROG 703GX lineup . I think...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Late Christmas gift for myself

Hi All I just ordered a kit of 2x 32Gb Kingston HyperX Fury SODIMM 3200 Mhz CL20 for my Valeon . I just want to ask if anyone knows if PCS 32 GB kit is also CL20 or if it is of the slower CL22 variant ? I know that they use Corsair memory , but the specs of these DIMMs are not mentioned...
