Thanks for replying. In hindsight I should have included this in the original post (will edit) but the laptop I received is a Clevo N750GU, I did a quick search but can't find any drivers for it.

I've recently bough an Ultranote V and installed Debian, this is probably a longshot, but is there any way to disable to keyboard backlight? I've checked the UEFI options, but there's nothing for it there. EDIT: My Ultranote V is a Clevo N750GU.
