Ok, that makes a lot of sense for the PSU.
In terms of development, mainly C++ with libraries like opencv, but cuda was to teach myself to use PyTorch - just out of my personal interest, I know you need a ridiculous powerful machine for anything remotely serious.
I have sort of got comfortable...
Thanks for responding! I think last generation should be ok for me, my monitor is 1080p and 60hz anyway. Replacing a computer that got damaged in house move rather than looking for massive upgrade. I had a couple questions if thats ok…
1) The PSU change - is that for the GOLD rating or wattage...
Hi. Any advice on this build would be greatly appreciated. It is for gaming and hobbiest development. Ideally should be able to play games like Elden Ring at 1080p / 60 fps / max settings. I want to have windows on one of the SSDs and Ubuntu on the other - I like the idea of keeping them...
Letting windows install drivers didn't help. However, switching the card to use 2.4 GHz seems to have solved it. The dongle connects at 5 GHz just fine, so not sure what is going on. Internet speeds are just fine with 2.4 Ghz connection anyway.
No worries. Thanks anyway! I did try rebooting the router - which didn’t help. Reluctant to mess with router settings - since everything else connects fine.
I updated windows, but will double check there are no optional updates I've missed. I tried unscrewing and re-screwing the antennas, but didn't change anything.
The usb wifi dongle works fine.
I wonder if it could be related to the PSU - which is right next to the wifi card?
Hi. I have a PC Specialist Desktop with an Intel AX200 wifi card. I haven't used my PC for a few months and coming back to it I am struggling to connect to wifi and when I do the speeds are absurdly slow (bbc home page takes minutes to load). Connecting an old wifi dongle I have solves the...
I'm about to send my machine back for RMA and I think there is a good chance the motherboard will need replaced. What will happen to my windows install in this situation? These days it seems it is based on a hardware key, which will presumably become invalid if the motherboard is replaced...
So I installed the new PSU. Everything was fine for about a week - fans/power light came on as soon as the button was pressed. However, it has now started exhibiting the problem again. I press the power button and there is a 5-6 second delay before any activity. I guess I will need to contact PC...
