Intel 6235 + Windows 8 or 8.1 is a complete nightmare. Never ever again will I buy Intel network/wifi/Bluetooth stuff.

Due to probably a bad cable or something totally random (as always with firewire) my firewire port on the Vortex III has failed. Is this port directly connected on the motherboard, thus making it rather expensive/nearly impossible to fix?
It's almost critical to my work so I need the port...
