an update on this issue.
I ordered, and received, a new 360 AIO from PCS yesterday.
Apart from my own physical limitations the installation went as well as expected.
It arrived in the wrong box, without any information or instructions, but I managed to work it all out.

I thought that might be the issue but I can feel the water running in the pipes so assumed from that it was working ok.
I bow to your better knowledge though. I thought the PCS AIO would be rock solid, surprised to hear that it failing inside 2 years isn't abnormal.
