PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Chassis - Underneath the new 17.3" Optimus Pro XI?

Check the threads in the tech support. At the time of refund they insisted that the fans not increasing over 50% was a design feature despite the cpu reaching 95 degrees. You had to manually press a button to activate fan boost which cooled to 65 degrees under load. This might be fixed now but...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Fans not speeding up when hot

Re the viper series Hello Dana, Following on from the news that the Optimus Pro 17" laptop won't exceed 50% fan speed spite despite temperature or CPU load, I was wondering if the Vyper 17" is also designed in the same way? Best, Ray Hello Ray, Sure yes they both designed the same way...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Fans not speeding up when hot

Truth be told, from the tests I did, 100% cpu load was reaching 94 degrees, turbo fan on they reached 80 degrees. Video games on 50% fan at 90 degrees went to 68 degrees on full load, so with a custom fan curve I imagine it's a well cooled machine.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Fans not speeding up when hot

Thanks Spyder, I'm really not happy with the response they have given. Multiple people have been asking about this on the forum, my laptop has been RMA'd to them for this fan issue, but now they are saying it's "by design"? Weird! Nor should they be asking people to manually turn on the fan...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Fnatic PC

Hi Chris, Honestly that machine with the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Graphics will churn out over 150fps on 1080p high settings for fortnite. A 144hz screen to accompany it might be a nice touch for your grandson, but a 240hz screen would be overkill for a 10 year old. They are industry professional...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Recommendations/RAM Modules

It does allow a spare slot for upgrading, but it also means that your 16gb will be running in a single channel. You lose around 20-30% effectiveness running on a single channel compared to dual chanell (eg 2x8gb) I'd always recommend going for dual channel with the highest MHZ available.
