PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Zen 3 Tracking thread (5900x/5950x)

I ordered on 8th October and changed the CPU to the 5900x within about 30 seconds of its launch. I removed the Asus RTX 3080 from my order on Friday and my system has now been dispatched.

It's already waiting to be dispatched. I suppose testing is quicker when there isn't a GPU.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

I decided to try to get an RTX 3080 elsewhere so I removed the ASUS card from my order on Friday. I signed up to Stock Informer and was able to order an MSI card early on Saturday morning, to be delivered this Friday. My order is now in building. I ordered on 8th October.

I got an estimated build date email this morning at 6:35, saying Thursday 19th. I ordered on 8th October so I don't think the automated emails have stopped.

So you are going to mess it up just because you can?
  6. T

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

No. That's aimed at the two people in this thread (you being one of them) who have indicated they may mess it up for no other reason than they can.

Sure, if a troll came along to intentionally mess it up, then it wouldn't mean much. Are you going to do that?

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

It will give some indication of how things are moving along. Which is better than the lacklustre communication we get from PCS.

That's the monitor I have. I only have a GTX970 at the moment though. It can still do 4k at, I think it's 80 FPS with old games like Batman Arkham Asylum.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST NVidia 3000 series confirmed details

Gamers Nexus had a news item about an EU retailer that listed its orders and receipts of RTX 30xx cards. I wonder how representative this is.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Preemptive check

I was going to go with the 750W originally, but ASUS recommend an 850W PSU with this card. I also put the components into a PSU calculator, using the maximum boost frequencies for the CPU and GPU and it recommended a little over 750W. I chose the case for its airflow and because I prefer the...

I've updated the specs. Of course the case and PSU are both out of stock so I can't even confirm the order yet. PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST rendering pc- 2nd year CGI- any advice?

To decide what GPU and CPU you should get depends on whether the GPU or CPU is better for rendering in Arnold for your projects. If you aren't sure, you might want to check on an Arnold forum to see which is better for your needs. Either ask directly or search to see if someone has asked...

Definitely Nvidia then. They don't support AMD cards. https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5ARP/Supported+GPUs

What rendering software are you using? Depending on the software, it might be better to go for an Nvidia GPU.
