i bought a laptop from this site and received it a few days ago, the viper with the 1gb 230m nvidia graphics card and i cant seem to get any drivers to work properly with it. i didnt order windows with my order because i have copies of xp and windows 7, so ive tried it with both of them and still no good, ive read windows 7 doesnt support the hybrid sli thats going on with the graphics card so i think that might be it. i also get the error 10 the device cannot start when i look it up in the device manager, am i doing something wrong or should i think about ringing up and sending it back?

never got supplied any cds.

installing windows fresh in the device manager it shows two graphics cards but just names them both vga adapter, and one of them gets the error 10 this device cannot start,

after installing nvidias drivers for them, i see the 9100M and the 230M and with windows 7 the 230M disappeared off the list, and XP it showed it with an error.

nvidias driver program thing only ever finds the 9100M. is the best thing to ring the technical support and they can remotely access the laptop and install drivers or see the issue?

OK,
First of, you should have recieved an install cd with the laptop containing all the relevant drivers. If you didnt send an email and we will send you one.
Secondly, this laptop will not be fully functional using windows xp. It will worlk but you will not be able to use hybrid sli.
Finally, in the bios there is on option to turn on hybrid graphics. Tap the f2 key on startup. Once in the bios select the advanced menu, then igpu sub menu. Then make sure hybrid graphics is enabled.
Of course non of the above helps if the correct driver (do not install drivers from nvidia website, they are rarely the correct ones for mobility graphics) isnt installed.
Go to this ftp site to get your drivers. ftp://psftp.mic.com.cn/
username = disti
password = disti1
The vga drivers are located in the 9070dx directory
Let us know if it works. Good luck.

Not wanting to tread on any toes or nay say Maestro,

should the tips above fail why not check out laptopvideo2go they offer patched nvidia drivers for the whole mobile range as well as desktop ones. Just follow the sites tips.

I've used them many times on a variety of laptops from a variety of manufacturers including our own models never had a problem with them,

Good luck.

Hi lozzajp, I have this laptop too. The latest standard drivers that I could get to work from the system is 197.16 from the nVidia site. I'm kinda disappointed because 258.96 has been released now but it doesn't work. WATCH OUT, if you install the newer drivers then you get a series of nasty crashes and I had to do a system restore from the Win7 installation disk.

Here are the links:
For Win7/Vista 64-bit: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/notebook_winvista_win7_x64_197.16_whql_uk.html
For Win7/Vista 32-bit: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/notebook_winvista_win7_197.16_whql_uk.html

I am having exactly the same problem, I've tried to update from nvidia using the mobile drivers and get this.

Could we get a link to the most recent version of the correct drivers please? The age of the drivers is impacting my gaming.
