No internet connection dns error

Hi there folks, been running my new 14" defiance for a few months now trouble free. How ever this week i habe been habing problems connecting to the internet comes up saying no internet access when I run the troubleshootrt it comes up saying a dns error detected. Usually this clears after a few minutes but it hasn't worked at all today. Internet is working fine with all other devices any ideas?

I noticed when looking at adapter settings the ipv4 comes up saying internet and ipv6 says no access.

The BSOD Doctor
IPv4 only access to your ISP is normal. Very few ISPs offer IPv6 access to the home.

Most home routers are setup to use the IPS's DNS server and these are not always that fast, it's also possible that your DHCP settings have become screwed somehow. So...here's what I suggest you do at first...

1. Open the network and sharing centre and click on Change Adapter Settings

2. Right click on your network adapter (probably the wireless card) and select Properties.

3. Scroll down the list of protocols in the window you'll see until you find the IPv4 entry and click on it to highlight it.

5. Click the Properties button and ensure that the Obtain an IP address automatically radio button is checked.

6. To use your ISPs DNS server ensue that the Obtain a DNS server address automatically is checked. However, you can often get better performance and greater reliability by using the OpenDNS servers. To do that click the Use the following DNS servers radio button and enter the following IP addresses into the two boxes: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.200.

See whether that helps?

Thanks for that guys, switched it on today and all is well. Will save your replies though and any issues in future will try it out.
