Mini PC Apparently DOA

Everything connected, press the 'power' button, the blue power LED comes on for about 1/2 sec, the LED to the left flashes momentarily (I assume it's the disk?) before the power LED goes off, the machine doesn't power up. If I keep my finger on the power button this cycle repeats every few seconds. Peering through the ventilation holes I can see a green LED on the right-hand side of the motherboard is lit. This is a 'no O/S' system but I presume it should at least boot to a BIOS!

The box the PC was in was loose inside the outer box, one of the moulded polystyrene fillers broke in two, so maybe something shook loose but there was no damage to either box. No idea what to try see what's wrong, no manual for the specific system, just the generic PCSpecialist booklet.

Very annoying, only just got around to trying to install it today although it arrived Thursday. :(

Hi Kraggy,

I'm sorry to hear this. As it's out of office hours I can't really help as much as I'd like but I'll give it a go!

I have checked your specification and would like you to remove the side panels of the Mini PC and ensure that every cable is securely plugged into it's port - especially the yellow/black PSU cables. Please also give the RAM a gentle push to ensure it's seated correctly in it's slot. Hopefully its is just a lose connection and you'll be up and running soon but if this fails I'd recommend a call to Tech Support on Tuesday AM.

Sadly it's still sulking. All cables were fine, I removed the RAM strip and re-seated. I noticed a very, very feint sound of what I think is a motor trying to start, my guess is it's the disk. I tried disconnecting the SATA cable to the disk just to see if that affected things, it didn't.

I'll call on Tuesday for an RMA, I realised no one was 'in' today so I posted on the off-chance. Thanks anyway.
