May is shaping up to be a decent month for game releases with a few of the potential highlights being:
- Warhammer 40k: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters https://store.steampowered.com/app/1611910/Warhammer_40000_Chaos_Gate__Daemonhunters/
I'll be honest, I've never played any of the Warhammer games...
I was unsure if Burnley getting rid of Sean Dyche was a wise move on their part or not. Their results have gotten instantly better, so it seems like Burnley have made the right choice. Their run in has a few definitely winnable games coming up.
As a Toffee, I don't see where Everton's wins are...
This was originally announced on April 1st, but nobody realised it was a genuine announcement, so they had to re-announce it. The other Monkey Island games are among the best point & click games ever, so more Monkey Island can only be a good thing in my book!
I often say that I don't really care about international football, and yet here I am watching the start of the draw for this year's World Cup. Will be interesting to see how it ends up.
April's one of my favourite months for gaming as there's usually not too many releases so I can have a go at actually trying to finish some of the games I already own. That being said, there's still a few I've got half an eye on:
- Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Sage...
Just found out there's free DLC on the way for Witcher 3, but it's tied into the TV show (which I admit I've not seen yet) - slightly mad that CDPR are still putting out DLC, but I suppose it's partly looking to rebuild a little goodwill after CP2077...
I'll be keeping a close eye on the reviews for this one as it releases at midnight tonight. It's a supernatural action game inspired by various Japanese urban legends/supernatural stories and it looks pretty cool. It's also noticeable that it's a Playstation console exclusive being published by...
The studio that made the original game and upcoming sequel was bought by Epic not so long ago, and so the sequel won't be getting a Steam release at all. Still, on the plus side it means I won't spend ages trying to give away my spare Steam key!
That's a shame, but that's the way PC gaming is...
It's been given away on Epic a couple of times and was on Humble Choice a while back, and I'm finally getting around to giving it a go. I've heard the game itself is a bit meh, but the community around you tracking the relationships, etc of those you can help/ feed off is quite a cool mechanic...
Microsoft are looking to use their Bethesda acquisition to make a sequel to one of my all-time favourite games. It's likely to not be releaed until the latter part of the decade, but I can wait if they pull it off...
The Rock opening last night's Superb Owl was as over the top as you'd expect. He reworked quite a few of the lines that he used to use in the WWE to fit the NFL.
He sure has a LOT of charisma!
As a youngster (I won't mention how young so as to not offend the old-timers on here), I was a huge fan of Bullfrog's Theme Hospital. I've posted on here previously about the amazing games made by companies based in and around Guildford as a hotbed of UK development, and Theme Hospital was among...
After a bit of a kerfuffle earlier with @DISCOSPARTA trying to discuss a February release in the January thread, I figured I should get a move on and set up a new thread to discuss upcoming games. Thankfully Logitech G heard my call and have launched their video on the subject.
Dying Light 2...
I've played the WWE games on and off over the years as some of them have been pretty good, and some have been absolutely dire. WWE 2K20 was pretty much an abomination with many admittedly hilarious graphical errors with the rings falling apart at will, wrestlers becoming trapped inside railings...
The amounts of money involved in big business are basically just insane, but I'm blown away by Take Two's acquisition of mobile games company Zynga. They're in the process of spending $12.7bn, which is a number I can't really get my head around. I enjoyed Farmville back in the early days of...
I see that Jedi: Fallen Order is getting a sequel. I was a bit poop at the combat in the game, but really enjoyed the story, so will be keeping an eye on this!

I've just got the air blower out and gave my PC a quick once over (it has been a while). I'd forgotten that some of the components were black and not gun metal grey!
I now have idle temperatures of around 36 to 40 degrees instead of high 40s/low 50s as they were this morning.
Good deed for the...
Just filled out the latest survey as I'm always curious to see the results. The current results are like so:
Really surprised to see that 1080 is still the most common primary display resolution!
January's usually a slow month for big gaming releases, as nobody's got any money post-Christmas. January 2022 is shaping up a little differently with God of War and potentially Steam's Hitman 3 release. The next Rainbow Six game is also out, but I've not played the series in many, many years...
