PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Finally! H150i has landed

Not kept up on here for last week or two... just realised the H150i elite capellix is now available as a selection, on the regular builds!

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Corsair 5000X vs 5000D

Now nearly £50 price difference between the two, so for me, the 5000D is the clear winner in almost all scenario’s - unless tempered glass front and top is an absolute must for someone. I guess the 5000X has proven extremely popular and i can see why

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Newest 3070 driver

Updated to the April driver for 3070 today and lost over 500 graphics score on my Timespy benchmark. I ran it 5 times and same outcome so i rolled back to March and my score is back. Crazy how much difference a driver can make.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Paradox

Not sure if anyone else plays Paradox games... 7+ years on i am still smashing EU4, but what i really want is... Vic3. HOI is just too small of a period. Imperator is too repetitive and CK3, i just can’t get into it properly.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Football manager

Anyone else play? The difference a fast games drive makes on this game is outrageous. I was surprised to see, the CPU only sits at 10%, GPU at 50%, Vram at 45% and Ram at 40% usage. I had always assumed the CPU would be much busier.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST DLSS

So i don't really use DLSS - as i always turn RTX off, but this benchmark shows how insane DLSS is... Does anyone know any titles that actually utilise DLSS?

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST 3070 vs 6700XT

The price currently pushes me towards the 6700XT. However i am currently testing them both, to see if the 3070 is worth the extra - even when not taking RTX and DLSS into account. I shall update with my personal findings.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Elite Capellix

It’s great to see the addition of the elite capellix. I had a slight issue with mine, as they run at a different rpm to regular ML’s and in turn... i have to run the EC at quiet and ML’s at extreme, to balance the heating - however i have a front mount and exhaust is more important than intake...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST HDD/SSD/M.2

I mean for OS 🤣. Although personally i don’t have a HDD as i utilise servers and the cloud and streaming. So for me - HDD’s are completely obsolete.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Favourite cases?

So whats everyones favourite cases? 3 categories: Premium, Budget, Not available at pcs. I’ll start with: Premium: Corsair 500D SE Budget: Corsair 4000D Airflow (Not so budget when you add the ML fans 🤣🤣) Not available: Corsair 4000X RGB I’m not even a Corsair fanboy, i just think they...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Corsair H150i

The H150i is available for threadrippers but not regular builds. The issue is, if someone buys say a 5000X and a H100i, they would still need to buy another fan (which is included in the H150i), so the H150 is only really around £20 more expensive, for a better cooling performance - especially...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Ram OC

Not sure if you can OC ram whilst under pcs warranty but... it’s literally free performance, especially at 1080p. I’ve never OC’d ram before, but i just got some new ram and the box states ‘designed for extreme overclocking’. It’s already solid @ 3600mhz cl16 (16-19-19-36). Anyone else dabbled...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Corsair

What i can’t understand about Corsair is... they make cases like the 4000D and 5000D airflow case and they only add 2 fans. These cases then get benchmarked by reviewers, where they tend to get beat by competitors cases (because they have 3 or 4 as stock) and people simply look at the...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Addition to the builder

I don’t believe it is on there already (although i may just keep missing it), but... some nicer sleeved cables would be a great option. I’m just really not a fan of these twin head cables, used by Corsair, it’s just not aesthetically pleasing in my opinion.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST 980 pro vs firecuda

At a £42 price difference, i just can’t find myself able to recommend the Samsung on a build, over a firecuda, unless money is no object. Does anyone know any time, when the Samsung is going to legit be worth that markup? (It’s roughly 50% more and that difference can often be price between a...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST 4000X RGB

A great case, that combines the greatness of RGB and the 4000 design. Basically a budget friendly 500D SE.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Overclocking

So the 3000 series really do seem capable, of being really pushed by OCing. I benchmarked my 3070 and it scored something like 20th percentile, with a 149% bench. Suspecting everyone has overclocked theirs, i took to reddit to find some overclocks... i stuck modest with +100 clock and +850...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Silence vs thermals

So i’m wondering, everyone is going to want to keep their thermals on point, so they don’t throttle. But how much noise does everyone rig make / what would you consider to be acceptable? my current one i get around 80ish fps on cod, but it is pretty much entirely silent (no exaggeration). My...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Gaming build

So me and my friend, are both looking at getting a gaming build (each, not sharing one). It’s for 1440p gaming and paired with 1440p 144hz monitors. So far i have near enough settled with this, but critiquing it with others, i think will always be beneficial. the sole purpose is gaming, i have...
