PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST A Thank You to the Regulars - from a sort of new member...

Well done everybody. I am also a recently reg Irish member and find the place to be fantastic. Which consequently is of zero surprise to me given the fantastic welcome I've been given the hundreds of times I've visited the UK. Keep up the good work everybody. It's a slightly unique thing going...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Question regarding PSU with rtx 3060

Some big issues with that build mate unfortunately. 450 too low for a power hungry i9 and 3060. Slow ram, not as big an issue for intel. Do I see correctly that you have no SSD? That would be absolutely criminal and massively impact system performance.

Ah ya I agree. I'm not looking for an argument I just think its a real area they need to improve on.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Gaming PC and Uni work

Really depends if you want to trim the budget or not. The TUF gaming x570 board would suit a 5800x perfectly. The 3070 will drive a G9 over 60fps on most all games if you don’t ray trace. Look at the reviews online, the 3080 will get you some extra frames, depends on your requirements.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Laptop Hinge Breakage

It’s just a frustrating level of service. The product is good and the constrains at the moment are noted. My experience was as follows: DOA PC packed with no internal protection at all for any of the components with a heavy 3070. 2.5 hours to get through to someone that could help Told that if I...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Laptop Hinge Breakage

Whatever about the investigation into the mechanism of the failure, the level of service at the moment is not acceptable. Weeks to get email response, RMAs taking months, hours to get through on the phone. I know it’s a pandemic and I understand places are busy, but this is a bit much. It’s...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Well its been approx 10yrs, its that time again

Does anyone actually have the frostflow cooler or just making things up? Came with mine and had every intention of changing it but it performs very well. 5800x idles at 30c and mid to high 70s on sustained all core max load. Doesn't budge past this even on stress testing. Actually gets better...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST I am new to all this PC stuff and I have a few questions about it.

That's a great system to be honest. Nvidia seems to just play better with some of the more popular games at the moment but mainly only if you want RT on. DLSS is good but it can make things look like crap too if you rely on it too much. I have a 5800x 3070 build and it will do any game out...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST friends concern about motherboard and power unit

Agree the 5800x and the 3080 will be a brilliant gaming PC and perform better than an i9. Proper high refresh 4k gaming is doable on a 3080 but if you want high settings over 60FPS you may struggle. Saying that 1440p gaming is more than enough imo and that system will crush it.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Wifi Signal Issues

If you right click your wifi and click properties what speed is it connecting to the router at? Windows can show full bars when the signal is quite crappy.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST New Gaming PC

In practice it makes no great difference as the only cables you cant remove are essential to any build.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST New AMD RTX 3070 Build

Few things I would point out, don't bother with the special cooling paste as its not needed and some components come with their own paste that's better. Hard drive configurations are a bit all over the place. Why so many different ones? Power supply is overkill for the components, but that's...

If its only ordered 24 hours shouldnt be a big deal. Although because things are so busy a refund could take a while. Took 3 weeks for mine.
