I've got a similar problem on my intel 10875 RTX 3060 the fan is running 50-70% all the time regardless of what I do in the fan profiles I'll email PCS and hopefully they hav a fix - the noise is quite annoying.
This is for my Ionico..
I can use the control centre to enable function lock, that way I can change the volume with 1 press rather than Fn+key
But it regularly re-sets itself and stops working. if I goto the control centre I can select t again but this is annoying any suggestions, why would...
There is a padlock on F2, Fn F2 selects lock and unlock but it doesn't seem to do anything? With either option the F keys still work as F keys not as volume etc
Am I able to set the F keys on an ionico 17 bydefault as volume etc?
Also ideally I would like to retain F5 as screen refresh but that is probably asking too much...
No issues in device manager but what about the power setting control panel, any motherboard drivers (to update) is there any other useful software - how do you control the keyboard colors etc ??
And where to get them?
Nvidia graphice drivers (obviously) (From Nvidia that one is easy..)
Drivers for motherboard?
Software to control fan settings etc?
Anything else?
Any other checks to perform?
I'm in the UK so hopefully will be fast, and maybe shipped tomorrow may even be a possibility. As I type this my current laptop knows its for the chop so has the fans whirring sounding like a vacuum cleaner trying to calculate some files and has repeatedly complained it has ran out of disk space..
I can't help but still look until I have the ionico in my hands, still no sign of a QHD 17" RTX 3000 series for less than 2k with a Ryzen 5000 processor so I'm hoping it stays that way until I have my laptop and stop looking - My machine is built and in testing now, I'm hoping they ship it...
Thanks - I will be going through them all once my Ionico arrives, it will be interesting to see how much undervoltage a different 10875 will take - how did you end up with -100mv if you have no BSOD though?
Bought Half Live Alyx yesterday as it was on offer for £27 from steam, got an email my laptop is being built so fingers crossed its done before the end of the week.
Well you pays your money you take your choice, I decided I couldn't wait any longer and could not find a QHD 17" laptop with 3000 graphics for a similar price - I just hope the performance is a nice surprise when I get it.
H Paul Haha no problem, I ordered it earlier today but they had the 1tb fast SSD so I got that (they did not have stock when I posted this spec) , it's very good you can use Alyx on quest with max on your 3070 so my 3060 should be good but not maxed out which is fine for me. Lets face it any PC...
If you plan on doing a lot of productivity (rendering, compiling, coding) you'll see massive improvements.
AAh no don't say that I've convinced myself the 10875 is not so much slower... anyway my choice for a QHD 17" laptop is very limited (or non-existent..) If PCS bring out a Ryszen Ionico 17...
Well I actually order an Asus TUF laptop a month or 6 weeks ago and 2 weeks later it was cancelled because they could not get chips.. I've been deliberating ever since, really wanted a 5800x and 3060 but was fed up with waiting
Just my thoughts as this is a top spec laptop. The Hdd is quite slow for not much more money you can get something much faster, ram is quite slow as well again upgrading to the fastest 2933 DDR4 does not add much ££ and I'd probably add the upgraded thermal paste as well for £9 its worth it if...
