Hi again, been a busy one for me over the years.
Just looking at fixing an issue I have with my laptop, hoping someone else has a little bit of input they could give me.
Basically my GPU isn't being cooled correctly, temperatures rarely go over 60, but I'm having a strange diagonal screen tear...
Ok, so I wasn't too happy with cooling recently so I decided to re-paste.
Everything seems ok so far, just wondered what a good temperature ranges for the CPU and GPU are.
Was doing some encodes yesterday running on full power from mains utilizing 100% CPU and the cooling was keeping the CPU...
Ok, I've now traced it down to the "Intel Chipset Drivers", this is the actual culprit for this frankly annoying issue.
Now here is the interesting bit: When a new update gets issued to either W10, or even new Nvidia drivers, it breaks the previous fix and causes all sort of nightmares...
I will give a rough guideline for getting W10 to run properly/remove issues.
To note:
Each Clevo laptop has it's own particular drivers, this is especially true for the mobo specific drivers: Hotkey and Chipset drivers, as these are modified from an original for it to work correctly on the...
Not having any problems with my wifi, but where on earth do I get them now? Luckily I managed to download the latest drivers late last year and that's it, can't find them any more.
Don't wanna sound all "preachy", but I'm beginning to see a lot of posts about laptops overheating.
Mostly the fact as soon as there are temperature issues, people are then cleaning them to rectify the issue. I'm afraid that as soon as you do get overheating issues the damage has already been...
Ok then guys, I'll leave this in your very capable hands:
Considering the Intel-N 135 DOES NOT work in my Optimus, which other card would give me absolutely NO hassle to use, (zero dropouts and whatnot?)
Considering:
Killer Network N 1202
Or the Intel Advanced-N 6300
Bear in mind I'm using a...
So I'm sure a few of you were aware I was having wifi issues, after a lot of calls and messing about came to the conclusion it was definitely a hardware fault so it went strait into an RMA.
Funnily enough though this path was not smooth as the first RMA was cancelled because a technician said a...
Ok a few others have been posting something similar, but I'll post my own twist on the issue...
So essentially I've been having issues with WIFI performance on this laptop, to start with I thought it was the router that was giving jip, now I'm inclined to think otherwise:
I've gone through 4...
Not sure if anyone has tried it yet, but I've noticed a couple good things:
1: The wifi no longer takes ages to start itself anymore.
2: The Volume slider lag is no more.
It looks like it's fixed most if not all of the Hotkey issues, well at least with my Optimus IV anyway.
Can anyone...
I have an Optimus IV coming up for a year and yesterday I noticed a (very slight) rattle coming from the fan. Nowhere near enough to warrant any great concern, but enough to make me think that it's on it's "down hill" ride.
Could I get a new replacement for it as I would imagine it falls under...
Ok, I've only just noticed this lately and it's beginning to worry me a little, couldn't see any other posts regarding this but maybe someone has a similar experience.
Simply the battery is only overheating when I'm gaming on the laptop without the mains plugged in. I realize the laptop is...
This review is a little long coming but I've finally got around to doing one for my Optimus IV, hope you enjoy it!
Firstly the specs:
Chassis & Display Optimus Series: 15.6" Matte Full HD LED Widescreen (1920x1080)
Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-3630QM...
If anyone hasn't heard, yearly SDA do a live stream of speedruns of famous games over the period of days for charity. It's actually pretty entertaining, go and have a look and maybe donate.
Awesome Games Done Quick.
Here is the schedule
Ok, so I thought I'd try out a few games on our HDMI enabled TV and wondered why at regular intervals on the screen I was missing a few horizontal lines.
Now for some strange reason the TV is enabling a 1920x1200 resolution and calls for that resolution on fullscreen games. Now the downside to...
I thought I'd try out a systeminfo program to see how my laptop is running and had my fears confirmed: My 2nd HDD is running at 53C. I've noticed ever since the 2nd HDD was installed that it was getting a bit too warm for my liking, basically it's a 7,200 WD Black. Now I'm pretty sure when...
