Well, the computer got here in the end! Yesterday. The second package of various bits and bobs still not here and supposed to arrive today.
FedEx have been dire altogether. But the computer did get here in one pices thankfully.
I would have thought DPD weren't big enough for a customer like PCS. I was thinking UPS would be better, based on previous experience with them. FedEx are pretty dreadful as far as I can see, at least at their entry level product.
FedEx phone call tells me it is in Customs in Ireland and I will get an update on Monday. If only their scanning would pick it up!
A strongly worded letter to PCS telling them they should get rid of FedEx is in the offing I think. I've used the other global services for shipping before and they...
So now my PC, which was in Stansted, was taken out of Stansted and sent back to Ridgemont where it had been the previous day.
FedEx e-mail support has been absolutely hopeless so calling them now.
Okay so I was wrong when I said Belgium, it was in the UK all the time - BE is not just Belgium, it is also Bedford! It's now in Stansted awaiting transport to Dublin. Got an apology from FedEx today too. Estimated delivery is next Tuesday.
At least I know where the thing is now...
So my PC is in Belgium and will be delivered to Ireland on the 20th.
So much for 2 to 3 days! No fault of PCS, this is all on FedEx. At least they found the PC but I am fuming.
I hope that's what it is because PCS are saying something is wrong with FedEx scanning systems...
It's 3 days late at this point (although it is the date FedEx estimated the delivery at when it was picked up at PCS) - how long did it take to deliver to you after dispatch?
Well my PC is now in a black hole somewhere. PCS telling me it's been shipped but the scanning isn't updating - apparently this is a problem with many PCS customers at the moment.
FedEx haven't got a clue where the package is but have escalated the case.
It would be an understatement to say...
Based on my experience I would say three weeks at a minimum and perhaps a period of months. There is a huge demand for graphics cards and associated hardware at present. Don't expect it any time soon is my advice.
Yeah this is another problem. Budget for a monitor is €500 and I'm trying to get the best possible knowing that really, I need to get one costing quite a bit more.
