PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Windows update failing on recent Windows 10 pro imaged PC

Thanks all - very useful to be able to bounce ideas around. In the end I went for a Windows 10 reinstall/reset (from inside Windows) which reset Windows while keeping the other stuff I'd already setup. Problem now fixed! I meant to remove Bullguard when I spec'ed the box, but it's truly gone...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Windows update failing on recent Windows 10 pro imaged PC

Here you go. It's not a particularly spectacular or unusual setup. I just wondered if there was a general issue with the image being used to build Windows 10 PCs. Case PCS 3601 CASE Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™ i5 Six Core Processor i5-11500 (2.7GHz) 12MB Cache Motherboard GIGABYTE B560M DS3H...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Windows update failing on recent Windows 10 pro imaged PC

Hi all, I have a desktop PC I'm just commissioning with an odd windows update issue; it's refusing to load the latest cumulative security pack, and has been doing this from new. Like this. I only ask since I expect others with recent pre-installed windows 10 pro builds may have seen the same...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Non-RTX graphics based 17" laptop please

Yes, of course - thanks! I'm surprised nobody is doing these at the moment - if it wasn't for the shortage, an RTX 3060 graphics card in the laptop would be fine, if a little overkill. But it seems the entire laptop production line is stopped because of the lack of availability of this cards...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Non-RTX graphics based 17" laptop please

Was looking to spec up a couple of work laptops; need fast disk, good amount of memory, good processor and a 17" screen. The one thing I don't need is a games spec graphic card, but all current 17" either have an underpowered battery saving Intel U type CPU, or an RTX graphics card...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Thoughts on this spec please? Potent, but also capable of running reasonably quietly

Yes, here you go https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/defianceVII-17/cNXfVEtZQW/ Budget £2000. Highly spec'ed RAM because it's likely to be used to write computationally complex 3D applications; experiments with own game/3D engine, that sort of thing. I'd normally spec 16GB but...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Thoughts on this spec please? Potent, but also capable of running reasonably quietly

Looking for fairly potent laptop for development/unity/vr hobbyist, but I still want it to be fairly quiet when not being pressed hard. How do you think something like this would fit? Chassis & Display Defiance Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD 144Hz 72% NTSC LED Widescreen (1920x1080) Processor...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST How many screens can this display please?

PS: This is a 17.3" Optimus X. I'm not really sure what the difference is between this and the Recoil III RTX or Defiance V RTX, or indeed the Octane VI which are all significantly more expensive. Any ideas?

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST How many screens can this display please?

Considering ordering a couple of these - just need to know how many screens they can display at the same time (which is not necessarily the same as the number of plugs on the device!). Need at least 3 (including the built in one). Any definitive answer? Can't get through on the sales line...
