PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST How to create system image on USB (Windows 10)

Following my thread on the easiest way to back up my data, I've managed to save it all to a usb using the Windows 10 Backup feature. Now I want to create a system image (on a different usb). However, the system isn't allowing me to do this - even though I've formatted the USB as NTFS. Looking...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST What's the best backup hardware & software?

Thanks for the suggestions. For my situation, it sounds as though the Windows 10 backup and a couple of external usb drives will do the job. Thanks again.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST What's the best backup hardware & software?

Thanks for the suggestions. Acronis etc look good. Isn't a NAS drive overkill, and ££££? My hard disk is only 240gb? I was thinking of £30 for a usb....... If I'm honest, I'm not looking for a solution that will survive a nuclear war, just something I can use to transfer all my stuff if my...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Wifi Keeps Dropping (Not a router problem)

Bit of an update on this. The drivers update solved the connection problem but..... ....my internet connection goes down whenever I backup data (via usb port using either a Window Back up to a usb stick or Western Digital Backup to their 'Book' external drive). Any ideas on fixing this one...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Wifi Keeps Dropping (Not a router problem)

Sorry - I was wrong, I've just had a look at the back of the case and there are two antennae. Sorry about that. Thank you very much for the driver link - I'll try it in the morning.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Wifi Keeps Dropping (Not a router problem)

Thanks for the suggestions. I've run various updates. It didn't come with an antennae, but the unit is setting right next to the router. I might give tech support a call as the pc is only a few months old so I'm not keen to shell out for a new card if it is indeed hardware failure.....

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Does My PC Need More Memory?

Recently I've been working with some cloud-based video animation packages, and I've noticed that they seem to run very slowly on my pc. They aren't particularly graphic intensive - basic 2D cartoon design. I'm wondering if the problem is my broadband connection (basic, not cable), the sites...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Replacing CPU Fan

I've just tried to replace my Titan cpu fan with a Noctua fan, however the Noctua fan won't work. It has a 4-pin attachment, which I've plugged into the correct pins on the motherboard, but the fan doesn't turn and isn't recognised by my computer. The Noctua fan is an NF-A9x14 PWM. Any...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Two Problems: (1) Noisy CPU Fan (2) Internet Connection Dropping

Thanks very much for taking the time to clarify things. I've located the cha_fan1 point on the motherboard, and unplugged the rear fan from it (the rear fan never seems to be used). And I've unplugged the noisy front fan from the psu. However, the plug from the front fan that was inserted into...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Two Problems: (1) Noisy CPU Fan (2) Internet Connection Dropping

I bought a PC from PC Specialist back in May. At first all was well, but recently there have been two problems: 1. The CPU fan gets louder and louder when the machine is in use. I've taken it back to PC Specialist and they spend a lot of time trying to replicate the problem but without...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Noisy PC

My desktop PC (bought from PCS a few months ago) isn't as quiet as I would like. There's a constant low level sound, like a hum. It's not the actual fan (I can hear that whirring separately and I'm not bothered about that sound) it's more like some kind of resonance. I've notice that there is...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Windows 7 Pro 'Destination Folder Access Denied' Error Message

Hi I've just tried to set up my newly delivered PC from PC Specialist. My SSD has been set up during the build with 3 partitions, as I requested. I'm trying to set up a new folder on the F partition but I'm getting the message 'Destination Folder Access Denied'. Apparently I don't have the...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST 'Future Proof' Business Desktop

Hi I need a new home/office computer. My current machine is an eight year old 2.8Ghz Pentium 4 with 1gb ram and 80gb hard drive. It runs slowly and noisily, particularly when I'm browsing the internet. It has Windows XP on it. I'd like a computer that is much faster and quieter. It will be...
