PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Recoil III with RTX 2070 drawing power from battery when plugged in

I've not read any battery drain with this chassis and cpu/card. At the moment I can't reproduce the drain even when playing the same game, so probably some specific circumstance I can't put my finger on.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Recoil III with RTX 2070 drawing power from battery when plugged in

Hi, I've had the a Recoil III with RTX 2070 and i7 9750H for about 1.5 weeks and it is a truly lovely laptop. I plan on writing a review once I've had it a bit longer to work it through its paces. Everything is going well with it but I'm baffled as to why when gaming (noticed it on one game)...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST What switches does the recoil III have?

A lot of reviewers say it has brown switches in the Tongfang 17" keyboard (i.e. PSC Recoil), so fairly quiet. Check out Youtube, most revew the keyboard as well.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Is this Recoil Config worth it???

The RTX 2060 is good value for money and gives great fps. Personally I went for the 2070 (should be arriving soon), hoping that will last a while. As suggested above I would consider getting a M.2 SSD. Also definitely get the gold warranty, it is only a few £s more and makes more sense when...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Laptop red and green lines crash while playing games

From my experience horizontal coloured lines or blocks are usually GPU related, and indicate a GPU fault. If they where vertical sharp lines or broad blurry white horizontal lines that would point at a problem with the display or something connected to the display (like the LCD cable/Inverter).

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Laptop shuts off randomly

Sounds like you have a worn out AC port, or the the AC port solder join to the motherboard is disintegrating. I've had the first problem before and a friend has had the latter issue. In my case the AC port was not holding the AC adaptor as tightly as it used to and this was causing power...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST 17.3" Recoil III trackpad has no buttons

I think I can get used to the trackpad as I haven't seen any note worthy mention in the numerous reviews of the laptop (under different rebrand names). I wouldn't necessarily get the larger battery, but it is nice to have the option if the occasion arises. I don't think the larger battery is...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Are the Recoil 15" + 17" speakers really that bad?

Hi, I seen a few reviews for the current generation of Tongfang and they all agree the speakers are pretty bad even for a laptop. With one reviewer saying they are the worst speakers he has heard on any laptop (gaming or otherwise). Apparent the main issue is that even at 100% volume they are...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST 17.3" Octane VI. Bad Experience So Far! Any Thoughts?

I had an audio problem like that before on an Alienware, and I tracked it down to a third party software I was using: HWinfo. I contacted the developer on a thread and he was super helpful and we worked out it was problem specific to Alienwares back when use with that software. Wonder if it...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST 17.3" Recoil III trackpad has no buttons

Thanks for the info, appreciated. I've not used a trackpad like that before, is it easy to get used to if you've used buttons all your life? Also can you explain what kind of temperamental issues you've found? On the battery, I've read it can be replaced with a third party larger watt battery...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST 17.3" Recoil III trackpad has no buttons

Hi, I've been looking at the 17.3" Recoil III, and with the exception of the battery watts (which is pretty terrible for a 17") it looks like a great laptop. The question I have is I've noticed the trackpad has no left or right buttons. Is it one of those trackpads that are clickable on the left...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST 3 Year Platinum warranty service?

I looking for a new gaming laptop, and one of the most important things to me is the warranty that comes with it. Can anyone confirm if the Platinum service can still be purchased? It is mentioned on the warranty page here: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/warranty/ but it doesn't seem to be an...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Will PCS be offering the Vortex V (Clevo P870DM) with desktop 980 GTX card?

As in the title. At the moment it has sli 980m and 970m options, but I'm not interested in sli systems. I would prefer the desktop 980 GTX (200 watt). I know it can fit in there as I've seen other Clevo P870DM configs with it in. Will it ever be available as an option? I realise that the 17.3"...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Any reason why PCS only offer 2 yrs collect and return to base warranties?

Hi, I just wondering why PCS only offer a 2 year collect and RTB warranty on their laptops. I was looking at the extreme performance range and was a bit surprised by this as other performance laptop companies in the UK offer this option. Are there any plans to have this as an option in the future?

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Are there any dual graphics laptops on the horizon?

Hi, this is my first post, so hello to everyone :) The question is in the title, is PCS planning on getting any dual card laptops in again? A while ago they had an 18" 2x gfx card system, but that has disappeared. Personally I was thinking of buying a 17" like this one (clevo x7200)...
