PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Is this spec any good?

We are derailing the thread, it's ok to disagree, you've offered good advice, all I'm saying is consider what's coming up. Some people would want to wait, others won't. As I said in all my posts it's still a nice PC.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Is this spec any good?

There is no intention other than offering advice, it's not every six months at all, the card he's buying is 18 months old, Pascal was flagship for the 18 months prior. AMD will also refresh their CPU's in that time, he's spending £3k on a PC at the end of a cycle. The 2080 ti wasn't a big...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Is this spec any good?

I get all your points and respect them. I just think you're going to regret not waiting, Turing wasn't, and isn't, a huge leap over Pascal, yet far more expensive. Ampere will destroy the first gen RTX boards, all first gen tech is generally weak. But, today, that's a sweet rig, enjoy!

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Is this spec any good?

Consider that nVidia should drop their Ampere, 30XX, cards later this year, buying a 2080 Ti at this point is pouring money down the sink. The performance and efficiency gains are assumed to be huge on these cards, as they use a new fabrication. Additionally, AMD will release 4th Gen Ryzen in...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Vortex IX review

I wish they did a 17" laptop with G Sync, those Vortex 15" are really nice, one thing to remember is you could boil water on those Intel CPU's so they will run in the high 80's and be deemed normal. AMD is the way forward, coming from someone who historically wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST New Intel i7 10th CPUs unable to undervolt/ underclock

Are you guys on AMD's payroll? Intel has been in trouble for a while now, and will be until at least 2022, next years refresh will likely be 14nm as well. The temps on your image are insane. I could cook dinner on these chips. As much as people go on about AMD we need them both to be...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST G-Sync not 'needed' anymore?

That's not the case, it means G-Sync can be run with Optimus to avoid the battery life penalty associated with G-Sync, previously it was one or the other. It also denotes that it's an optional technology. Why anyone would want a 144hz+ screen without it baffles me.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST G-Sync not 'needed' anymore?

G-Sync is just as needed from my perspective, the myth that high refresh screens don't need it is nonsense in my view. I cannot believe PCS doesn't offer one laptop from the new range that even has a G-Sync option. This has prevented me buying one from them and will lead to a purchase of a...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST ADVICE PLEASE - Laptop for light video editing and gaming

I'd strongly recommend an RTX 2070, if you have the budget, it will extend the life of your laptop and make better use of the lovely screen in those machines. Also, you cannot "upgrade" the GPU in a laptop once it's put together. Enjoy the new box when she arrives, look forward to hearing how...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Updated SPEC after advice! for gaming/Work

What res is your monitor and refresh rate? What games will you play? It looks like RGB 'Bling' is important to you, so perhaps consider a Corsair case as well, you'll be able to sync the RGB with your cooler, you can only sync with same brand gear, which sucks.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Vortex IX first look

I'm not going into details because this is PCS's forums, but you can get G-Sync on that chassis's display elsewhere, as one customisable option. I'd be surprised if PCS don't offer a 17" version of the Vortex at some point, but despite me asking a few times I don't get a definite answer.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Optimus X

Nice, when you receive the machine see if you have the option to OC the RAM to 3000Mhz, I'm not sure if that BIOS can do it off the shelf, but processing images can use every buff it can get, and you want to ring every last ounce of value from that sponge! Enjoy.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Help with new laptop Recoil III vs Vortex IX

Both of these models have HDMI out, so you'll be able to wire them directly into the telly. Just get the better paste on the Vortex if you go down that route. It's a personal preference, but I'd always go for G-Sync, it eliminates screen tearing, on the laptop screen, not the TV, but it's down...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Vortex IX first look

Quality review thank you, I'd be interested in a Vortex if it came in a 17" form factor, I wouldn't buy the Recoil from PCS, there is more customisable options for that particular chassis with other re-sellers. Have you settled on that undervolt now?

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Customisation Options

I've been looking for a new laptop for a period of time and during that I've gathered a much better awareness of the custom build game. Having looked at a number re-sellers it's a shame PCS don't offer more customisation options across their range. My requirements seem pretty vanilla: A 9th...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST "Desktop Replacement" Laptop

I'd strongly suggest a better M2 than the one you've put in. You can get upto 30% on those speeds with a Samsung or WD drive. Your machine has the ability, so use it I say. But, your cash my friend.

Amen brother, why all 144hz panels don't have G-Sync, at least as a paid extra, I've absolutely no idea.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Feedback

Not to elaborate on Oussebon's comments, but the specification of this PC is a dogs dinner, no logical cohesion between the decision making on parts and just streaming money into the wind. But, pays money, takes choice. Better spec, and one of the best gaming monitors included, for just over...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Vortex IX

I'm also interested in the 17" Vortex chassis, I spoke with PCS yesterday who couldn't provide a definitive answer on if it would be made available. Whilst I was at it, I asked about 1440p screens in their laptop range, again they were non-commital other than should such opportunities become...
