He’s not asking to be educated on the global shortage, he’s asking PCS to be more open about their situation when we order, like other system builders are…
Also I can say for certain that whilst a moderator on a computer forum might think “everyone” should be aware, the vast majority of people...
He messaged me about it and I called the company he advised and they quoted me no longer than 14 days (at the time of calling) if I wanted a 5800 and 3080, but said they could be around a month if I wanted the 5900 I had asked for.
I’m 63 days into PP so may dibble dip and cancel whichever one...
The lad I spoke to forwarded my message to his supervisor who has added it to the order as a “side order” or something along those lines.
I didn’t receive an email about it or any confirmation, but it was on my PC build page ready to be paid for so I’ll assume it was all a success.
Thanks fellas !
I’ve tried again today, the lad didn’t know what I was talking about so he asked me to send him an email so he can show his supervisor
we’ll see how it goes
PCS are definitely doing worse than their competition at sourcing cards, I don’t think can be argued at this point.
I went with PCS because they built my last computer 3 years ago and I’m a creature of habit, but whilst I recognise that the world I currently on fire with a perfect storm of...
I asked for the exact same and was told it’s impossible. Their system doesn’t allow for it.
It’s quite crazy how inflexible they are.
Edit: the poster above though seems to have had better luck, so it’s still worth a try
2 and a half hour on the phone, stuck 2nd in the queue for an hour of it ... customer service is absolutely shocking. The whole buying experience thus far has been beyond bad
Yeah it’s insane. I’m not sure if PCS just isn’t as good as others at securing stock but it sure seems that way.
I’m only 54 days in but the awful communication is very troubling, but at this point even if I took my money elsewhere I’d probably be waiting another 30 working days.
Fella it’s your money, do with it as you please and don’t let people guilt you into purchasing something else.
We’re at a new generation of gaming, the 3070 has been benchmarked in games designed for 10 year old consoles, with 10 year old game engine technology.
Yes you’ll get 140 FPS in Tomb...
Every time I call them I’m given an entirely different story. At this point I can’t even say it’s incompetence it’s starting to feel more malicious!
I’m 52 days in so see no reason to cancel, but had they been more upfront with their issues and offered as much clarity as other places I’d have...
Yes and currently on some very popular AAA games most cards struggle to maintain 60fps.
With the potential to play across 3 1080p screens, effectively tripling the resolution that struggle will be far more apparent.
I know this because it’s the exact reason I’m upgrading!
Well optimised...
I’m fully aware that that’s what you believe
However you’re opinion is based on “best case scenario” hand picked “optimised” titles
Which isnt the norm
They’re planning to run 3 1080p screen...Nothing wrong with advising a 3080 if they have the budget for it.
If you’re going to be using apps like blender and photoshop, perhaps stretch your budget for an 8 core CPU
Surely you’ll be right near front of the queue for the next batch of cards they receive, assuming they don’t don’t currently have enough to build yours
