PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Laptop not allowing me to access the Nvidia Display/resolution settings only 3d settings

Hmmm, what advice do you think I would have known to ask for?? Something like "If I buy this laptop with a nice graphics card will the interface make it look the the graphics card isn't doing anything?" Why would I ask for advice on an issue I would totally have no way of predicting?

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Laptop not allowing me to access the Nvidia Display/resolution settings only 3d settings

I consider myself to be fairly computer literate but I do think it is highly confusing/worrying when you spring for a laptop with a pricey gaming card and then all the available interface things tell you that it's not connected to the screen and so it appears it's not ever doing anything. It's a...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Update Intel drivers

I'm just checking that I should be updating the Intel graphics drivers. I seem to recall someone on telephone support saying I shouldn't but maybe I misundertood or remebered it wrong. It does mention about the CPU being newer than 6th gen (which mine is) and also said to check current driver is...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST No separate controls over touchpad buttons

OK. I'll see if support will raise the issue with Clevo. If that doesn't work then I'm going to have a go at loading the driver for the pad from another manufacturer's driver page. Thanks for everyone's input - much appreciated. :)

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST No separate controls over touchpad buttons

I don't think it is a Windows 10 issue. My HP laptop has the touchpad in device manger as what it actually is and, as you can see from the screenshots I shared, it has the control over the mouse buttons and touchpad buttons with the little drop down menu in mouse properties. I have tried using...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST No separate controls over touchpad buttons

It's PC70HP-D Ah right - that explains why PC Specialist does not appear in the list of manufacturers on the various driver sites I visited, it's basically a Clevo machine and PC Specialist add the bits that you can chose on the website. So, it's Clevo who are responsible for the truly awful...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST No separate controls over touchpad buttons

I assume I'm looking at the right thing here. I'm still quite puzzled as to why the touchpad seems to be in the device manager twice? On my old laptop it is shown on the mouse section. I might be wrong but it seems like the PS2 mouse that is always there when no other mouse is present seems to...

Mouse and touchpad settings that I've been used to for the last 20 years along with the settings on the Defiance. In the previous 20 years that drop down menu on the buttons tab switches between the touchpad and whatever mouse might be attached and you can set the buttons per device.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST No separate controls over touchpad buttons

Which mouse are you suggesting I disconnect/uninstall? There aren't really any settings for the touchpad button. All the gesture stuff has now been brought into the Windows 10 settings but without any button control - the additional settings which takes you to the more traditional settings is...

The fingerprint reader in the corner of the touchpad shows up as a Synaptics fingerprint reader. Wouldn't this imply that the entire touchpad is Synaptics?

I have recently bought a 17.3" Defiance. I'm having trouble with the touchpad buttons. For the last 20 years I have used lefty mouse for an actual mouse but have left the touchpad buttons as right handed. With this Defiance if I swap the mouse buttons then it swaps the touchpad buttons too. The...
