You must be in RoI then, cos in the UK we had our bank holiday at the beginning of this week, I honestly don't know if they deliver on bank holidays in RoI, I'm pretty sure they don't here (though I could be wrong)
Yep RoI, will have to be Tuesday. :surrender:

Received this yesterday with no problems or delays. They sent a mail in advance specifying the estimated time frame for delivery.

Well, Murphy's law. Delivery scheduled for Monday and it's bank holiday... Will update as how it goes.

My previous experiences with DPD haven't been good. Ordered a book and a Kindle case months ago from Amazon, and somehow I got a mail from Amazon telling me how I returned it and they were refunding me, looks like "I received it and did not meet my expectations" even though I never received it. Checked with Amazon and they said it was delivered correctly to my employer's reception and then returned (I was at work that day and receptionist did not see any delivery from DPD that day). So smelled like the driver did not like what he found, luckily he was nice enough to return it and I could reorder again.

Same happened to my work colleague couple of weeks later, she ordered a cool toy truck for Christmas for her nephew. She told me as she ordered and I told her about my previous experience then asked her about what delivery company the parcel had, and she said DPD, "hopefully you'll get it" I said. The truck never reached her. She had troubles convincing the shop to send another one again as DPD said they delivered it to the correct address and somebody there signed. Again nobody delivered at my work that day, and we had security cameras to verify.

Not saying is the company's fault, but there's somthing going on there, crossing fingers...

My experience with DPD was great ... but I guess it was just to the border as it was a French Postal van that delivered my new laptop here in rural France. Four days to delivery from the UK is pretty damn good for a large object. And the french are very used to using drop off points which are extremely practical if you're working.

Disappointed with DPD already, specifically requested my laptop to be dropped off at a local Halfords on a main road which is one of their drop off centres because I'm in work all day. Get a text this morning, we can't deliver to your chosen drop off centre so we'll deliver to your home instead. I'm not in. Now I have to ask them to leave it with a neighbour I don't know very well or round the back of my house and I have to accept any responsibility for it if it's damaged or not there when I get home. Pretty poor service if you ask me.

AFAIK they should not leave it behind your house, they need a signature to leave it anywhere, they should also not be allowed to deliver it to a neighbours address - they can only deliver to the delivery address (it's possible they do have the option to change to the invoice address if they cant drop it at a DPD drop off point though - but I don't know)

They have offered me the option of leaving it at the rear of the property or with a neighbour, but then they also offered to deliver it to Halfords which for some unexplained reason they tell me on the day that they can't do that, so who knows.

I've got a 1hr slot so I've decided I'll walk home from work in the afternoon and hope he arrives as early as possible in that slot then walk back to work and make the time up. It's not PCS's fault, I'm more than happy with the service I've had from them so far, but my opinion of DPD hasn't started off too good.

Unfortunately I think DPDs service quality depends entirely on the drivers/employees in your local area (I've had no problems with them in my area, but I know others in different areas have had problems) :(

It may be useful to let PCS know that they suggested they could leave it for you behind your house because I'm pretty sure they are definitely not supposed to be doing that.

Well I've got my new laptop, the packaging was excellent and hadn't been knocked. Not had chance to use it yet, back in work now till half 5. Still disappointed DPD decided not to deliver to Halfords making me have to walk across Altrincham to be in, but at least they arrived at the right time of day and the box was undamaged. I'll post a review of the laptop once I've had a couple of days with it.

I've just had delivery of my first PCS order and DPD arrived exactly in the middle of the predicted time slot. The packaging is in perfect condition, can't fault them at all.

Can't inspect the laptop itself at the minute though as I'm at work.

Leave. There's no reason to be at work now you have your pcs rig [rollinglaugh]

If only that were true!

Just wanted to add that the whole thing once unpacked was found to have been packed very securely, and also I'm very pleased with the laptop so far although I've not had much time to play around with it due to a busy weekend.

I have an RMA with PCSpecialist for my laptop and originally got a collection date of the 19th Jan (yesterday), with a collection time between 8am-1pm. During this time i received no message of the hour slot in which they would collect the package and when i inquired with PCSpecialist they said that the history said that it had been cancelled, however they were unaware of this and no collection had been attempted. Unfortunately i called PCSpecialist at 2pm as i wanted to give DPD the benefit of the doubt that they might pick up slightly late. Because of this i was unable to book another collection until today.

Again the collection was booked for an 8am-1pm slot and this time i was given a 1hour slot between 12 and 1pm. at about 12:55 the DPD driver turned up, so i prepared to answer the door and hand over the package. There was no knock, no attempt or prompt to open the door so i opened the door to watch the DPD van drive down the street, turn around and then drive away, past me on the pavement while i tried to flag them down.

I am furious and understand it is not PCSpecialists fault, however this is unforgivable by DPD to cancel two collections without even attempting, and in todays instance, going out of their way to NOT collect the package. I dont even know what to say, i seriously hope the staff at PCSpecialist give DPD a bollocking and I get my package collected, however now i am concerned about the state of my package when it reaches PCSpecialist.

absolutely shocking.

Hi, I have a question about delivery options and I can't find any information about that. We have "standard insured delivery" and there is "PCS extra care delivery (pre-noon) for 9£ more. What is a difference..? It's still with PDF? 9£ is for pre-noon option? I can't really see PDF driver to care extra for any package...

My new PC turned up today. It was shipped yesterday and I had a stream of emails in the final stages of production / dispatch. Then I got the notification that it was with DPD late yesterday. This morning at 00:20 I checked the status before going to bed and it was in Sheffield. I got an email and a text message advised it was going for delivery today between 16:21 and 17:21 with the drivers name. According to the domestic boss who paid for the PC it arrived at 16:40.

Top marks to PC Specialist and DPD for delivering ontime and undamaged.

I got in from work at 19:00 and by 22:00 was up and running (order did not include Windows so I had to install my spare Win 10 licence)

Hi had laptop ready for RMA collection between 08:00 and 13:00. After 13:00 contacted PCS to be advised that after the very helpful support guy, apologies but missed his name, contacted DPD Found that driver had refused the collection. Support managed to arrange for another van to be diverted and laptop collected in afternoon. This meant my daughter's plans had to be changed, after I wasted a morning waiting in for no show collection. At least my laptop is on it's way to the workshop now. A simple text advising that the collection would not happen from DPD would have been appreciated, but at least they picked up the ball to rectify same day.

I had to request an RMA for what i think and pcs support think sounds like a faulty AIO Fan on my cpu cooler.

had asked for the 01/05/2019 to be the pick up day. recived nothing from dpd on that day and then at around 6 pm they mailed saying they would pick my package up but it would be picked up on the 02/05/2019 instead making me have to change more plans around.

so they picked my package up on the 02/05/2019 and still have it and my best guest is pcs won't recive it until tomorrow because of the bank holiday.

Just to confirm, when my damaged PC was picked up by DPD I receieved no notification as to whether the package would be picked up that day. No emails, no texts at all.

I had to stay in all day and hope that they would arrive. Luckily they did.

PS My RMA entry in my account did state the date it would be picked up though. That was the only confirmation I had..

PS2 My first RMA delivery from DPD [Before I discovered the damage] the package was mounted long end upwards in the van, not flat on its back. It didn't look good at all. It was asking to be pushed over..
