Hello to all forum members!

First of all, we would like to thank all who commented in our Yodel Problem thread. Using the feedback you have provided, it has allowed us to make what we hope will be, big steps to improving your all-round buying experience with PC Specialist. This week marks a new era at PC Specialist as we have now switched courier to DPD!

DPD is one of the UK's leading time critical services carriers and can satisfy all distribution needs whether consignments are for the UK or elsewhere in the world. Integrating our own extensive UK network with our unrivalled ground based service to Europe and Air Express service to the rest of the world, we are well placed to satisfy all distribution and logistics needs.

So, moving forward we would like you all to help us continue to provide the best service we possibly can. Please keep us up to date with the service DPD provide (the good, the bad & the ugly!) and feel free to throw in any suggestions for any improvements that could be made. Try to include a bit of detail, rather than simple one liners :)

Monday I had a parcel from them delivered to the wrong address (not from PCS) but I have flagged that with their customer care team and they were helpful apologetic. Will post here when my PC comes (when ever the GFX card gets in stock) and let you know how it goes. Their tracker page is very helpful and the email advising the hour that they plan to deliver is very helpful, meant that i could get some sleep (I was on the night shift) and make sure I was awake for the planned hour of the delivery.

DPD delivered my replacement phone yesterday - and considering how difficult 3 made life for them they did a grand job.

HAD to be this address even though I was at work and HAD to be a weekday. They didn't get given the house number but rang my mob and left a voicemail (during the time slot stated via text so this was accurate). 20 mins later I had time to call and the Reading branch passed the message on and he went back to deliver the calling card. Collected that night where staff were chatty and helpful which is more than can be said for some depot's I've been to.

Pretty impressed!

I had the privlage of Yodel delivering my laptop from you guys, but have delt with DPD many times in the past, and really cant fault their service, when im shoping around always try and buy from a company that uses DPD, as love the 1 hour slow they give you, and their Tracking seem's to be alot more live and real.

Also fact 99% of deliverys are done in their van's and not passed on to a 3rd party in their Family Wagon.

The first piece of feedback about a PCS delivery from DPD???

Spot on! Got a text this morning saying the delivery would arrive between 12:21 and 13:21 and (despite deing disappointed when my doorbell rang at 12:23 only to find it wasn't them) they turned up at 12:47.

Delivery driver courteous but in a rush (no different from what I'd expect) and the packaging was in immaculate condition. Can't really ask for any more?

EDIT: Really impressed by their wheel-less vans as well, floated along really nicely. Got to get myself one of those :)

Had a little snag with DPD this week - I got an email with the delivery time ("Your order is due for delivery between 13:40-14:40 today"), but they never showed up that day. When I noticed they'd added "Unable to locate, directions required" (even though they've made deliveries to our place before, and had the right address) to the tracking information it was after the end of their day. Then when we called the next morning, the best they could offer was to send it out the next day, so actually it came 48 hours later than stated.

It wasn't a problem in this case (just the bag to go with my non-functional laptop), but that could've been really annoying if it'd been something more critical.

Yodel were pretty good with my original laptop delivery.

Expecting my delivery from them soon(well not really...)

My order was ready for dispatch on friday @ 7:45am and was collected by dpd at 4:25pm, right now it's only in hub 1 which is in Birmingham

It has to come over to Northern Ireland and the delivery estimate is tuesday :(

Does any of the mods know if they ship to N.I on sunday?

and if not, do you think it's possible the PC would be shipped over to N.I today, then brought to me on Monday? seems plausible to me tbh.

My computer has been at the local depot for the last 3 days :S should i be worried?

Well weekend days don't count so you can ignore those, but if it still doesn't move on Monday I'd give PCS a call to find out why it seems to be stuck at one of their depots.

I had Saturday morning delivery from DPD and I'm very pleased with the service.

The DPD website told me when my computer was collected from PCS, at the Leeds depot, at the Birmingham hub, at the Leicester depot and out on the delivery round I was on.

Both DPD and PCS notified me of dispatch and, on the morning of delivery, a timeslot (9:50-10:50) for my delivery. It arrived promptly at 9:52. :)

02 Dec 2011 16:25 Leeds Collected from self-labeller
02 Dec 2011 16:25 Leeds Customer data received

It was delivered to my house @ 12:05pm today - I received NO 1 hour window and the DPD website displayed my delivery date as the 6th of December, which is tomorrow.

As a result of this, I was not in my house and I missed the delivery. I contacted DPD and they have arranged another delivery for tomorrow.

I guess I should be happy that I;m getting it tomorrow, although this service was kinda bad.

If you were expecting delivery tomorrow, and it's going to arrive tomorrow, then it's their fault for trying early. But hey, it will be delivered when you expect it! I wouldn't call that bad service and the fact they tried early on the off-chance you were home is a compliment to them.

I guess you're right (maybe my first post was a lil angry)

Although the lack of updates was terrible service.

Edit: Sorry my original post was a bit hostile towards DPD - I guess it's a good thing they tried early & at least I'll still get it tomorrow (even though its on like it's 2-3rd working day)

:)

My RMA still has not come, it has been at the local depot since 01/12/11, I rang PCS up and they are 'investigating'. Sucks for me

My Laptop arrived yesterday and is faulty upon arrival. No power to screen and broken DVD tray - all the evidence points towards DPD, but the box is unmarked. Also, they wouldn't let me pick up the order on Friday instead preferring to keep it in a trailer all weekend. Not brilliant.
