From what I can see, they've performed pretty well in the latest games & benchmarks. Check out a very in-depth review at KitGuru - http://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/zardon/amd-hd7870-and-hd7850-graphics-card-review/

As always, feel free to comment and let us know you're thoughts on AMD's latest hardware!

This is what i have been waiting for! I'm going to get me a 7870 i think. It's only a year since i bought my PC with the intention of adding a mid range 5xx series card from Nvida when they were launched only to find out i would have needed to upgrade the PSU to get the card i wanted. Which i can't be bothered to do.

I for one am glad they went down the slightly reduced power draw, rather than jut ramping up the raw perfromance! YAY!

Can't believe I'm saying this but if these new NVIDIA cards turn out to be not much else I think I'm gonna have to go AMD for my GPU's, these 7 series are really showing their worth :O :surrender:

hey jak, can you verify something, I know these new Amd cards are for pci 3.0, but i read one works fine on pci 2.0, so would two 7950's run fine on pci 2.0 or would there be performance decrease?

im just thinking of another 580 or two 7950's hmmmmm....

All of the new cards work fine on PCIE2, they just cant run the specs PCIE3 can offer. Plus

Also 7870 is a bigger number than 680 so it beats it by miles.

nah I don't think so mate, as long as you can get atleast 30-60fps with pretty good settings there's no point. its a shame nvidia are more expensive than amd cards. :(

yeah I hope so, however, I don't think they will drop massively! a 2gb 560 ti is still around 200quid, they are really good cards and I cant see nvidia dropping the price any lower.

Does anyone know if a 7770 crossfire does much better in gaming than a 7870?

NVM.7870 i think does better for like 3-4 fps for like £20 more

The Palit 3GBs at DABS are about £380 and at Amazon about £375 (down from £402 when I got one last week) but there is now a 1-2 month wait for one direct from Amazon. Not a huge drop but going in the right direction.
