I´ve been thinking about buying new gaming pc for pretty long time. My only problem was to get enough money as I did want to get something really good which will last. When I got enough money I was considering whether I should buy desktop or laptop and from which company.
I knew I can build much cheaper desktop with better specs (plus i build few desktops myself so I would save some money for work) but on the other hand I took mobility and power comsuption in consideration. And truth is that when I see how big difference is between laptop and desktop in power comsuption I did choose laptop. Then another problem "which brand should I buy" to be honest PC SPECIALIST was my favorite as when I saw my friend´s PC SPECIALIST laptop I was really impressed. Even though it is over a year old he can run the most demanding games of these days (as for example bioshock infinite) on max settings without any problems. Plus I really loved the quality of manufacturing.
After I checked few other companies such as (alienware, msi, utopia computers, etc.) I decided for PC SPECIALIST as I doubt you can find better quality for this money. I´m big fan MSI and DELL(alienware) but thing is that you pay for the brand with these companies as well as for the rig itself. And to be honest I´m a gamer so I want performance and power. So when I saw all these options of customization like (color ferrari red, lamborgini green for £90 !! or paying whatever amount of money for case which has 10 led lights and all these fancy staff) I really had to ask myself what kind of people spend money on this. I wanna use the laptop not have it on shelve and look at it. Plus I believe in simplicity and the more things and features anything have the more likely is something will break down. And in the end even when I compare prizes without all these fancy things difference was still pretty noticeable ( in 100s pounds).
It took me some time to pick the right laptop for me and even though I set up my first limit to max £1000 I finished on almost £1400 :sweatdrop: but everybody who ever bought something like this knows how things are. When I was satisfied I put my order. I like the way this company keeps you posted about everything what is going on. First I ordered normal delivery but in couple of days I was really nervous and I had to change it to 5 days fast track as I just couldn´t wait any longer . Personally I think that waiting times are the only cons here, but also I can see that it is fair enough. First you´re not ordering pc from Curry´s world, you´re usually spending nice money on it so they wanna be sure everything will be ok. And second if someone order fast track he has priority which is also understandable. So for me it worked to spend 40 more pounds and know I´ll get it in 5 days.
Now to to laptop itself, I bought The 17.3" Vortex IV. With i7-2,8GHz, 16Gb RAM (1600MHz), GeForce 770m and KILLER network card. I knew what I could expected as it is the same type as my friend´s. First thing is packing which is really taken care of, laptop is chilling in the middle of box in polystyrene protection. Box as well is from really sturdy kind of carton.
Laptop itself looks fantastic like it´d say "I´m a really bad boy" . Black polished aluminium with no logo on the lid nor on the keyboard part, which is a really nice touch. They kept it nice and simple. It is really massive and it gives a good feeling. The screen hinges are big and tight but leave the lid easy to open. Really nice keyboard with programmable backlight. There is only a few stickers on like Intel i7 inside etc. Only downside of polished aluminium is that it likes fingerprints so I´d recommend to buy screen cleaner which you can use for whole laptop. I also appreciate that air vents, hdmi and power connector is at the back. It has enough mash parts on the down side which makes it well breathable. I use CM NotePal U3 which fits perfectly.
It came with apps such as geforce experience and what I really love is app Keep safe which works with the fingerprints scanner and let you kept documents nice and secured in really easy way. Few words to performance so far I didn´t have any problem with running anything on this laptop. And I already gave him few 8 - 12 hours gamming shifts I was pretty pleased when after 12 hours session of FarCry 3, Crysis, ANNO 1404, Skyrim all on max settings GPU didn´t cross 70, CPU 50 and airflow 40 degrees (with cooling pad) which seems to be fine for me. I believe if I´ll take good care of it, it is gonna last for a long time. And I don´t speak about possibility of upgrade which is really important to me as I don´t wanna buy another laptop in 2 years. Plus 3 years silver warranty is really strong combination.
Ok let´s zip it up In the end I would definitely recommend to buy pc from this company as for the performance/quality/price it seems to be one of the very best on market. If me or anybody else from my family or friends are gonna buy pc in the future I will advise to buy it here. I´m really glad I knew this company before I decided to buy my rig. Many thanks to PCSPECIALIST
