What are you gonna use it for? If gaming, then no, not really, you'll get a lot of bleed and blur in that price bracket. Really you'd need to be looking more at £250 and up for a decent gaming monitor.

I have the 22" IIYAMA E2273HDS from PCS (£109 inc. VAT) and it's an excellent monitor for gaming or anything else,
the 24" IIYAMA can be had for £125 inc. VAT.

My Samsung SyncMaster S24B300 has been brilliant for gaming and came in at around £130 if I remember correctly. No bleed and blur whatsoever.

it also depends on what system he got. I would understand a £250+ monitor if he is running a GTX 780 or higher.

I have a 24" Benq GL2450HM. Price was about £110-120ish and no problems what so ever. Great value for money :)
