Did it come with an OS pre-installed or did you install your own? If the latter are you sure you have installed all the drivers off the disk PCS will have sent you?

Check in Device Manager (via Control Panel) and see whether there are any yellow triangles with exclamation marks against any entries. If there are right-click and select Update Driver.

it came with the OS installed, i tried pressing update drivers anyway but it just says i already have the latest driver. I checked the device manager and it says the wireless card is working properly. Usually when you start up a new laptop for the first time it will guide you through getting connected, but i didnt have that which seems odd.

Laptops i've had in the past also have a button to disable the wifi, i cant see one on this laptop but is it possible there is one hidden somewhere i will never find it? :)

This may sound stupid but is the wireless activated? Is the laptop in flight mode?

flight mode isn't activated and i cant find a button to turn the wifi on anywhere. my old laptop had it on one of the function keys

I have the same problem.
Laptop arrived today (Cosmos Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD LED Widescreen (1920x1080) )
Software preinstalled.
Win 7 x64
Wi-Fi points can be seen. passwords entered. But connection fails. I have tried it on 3 access points. I deleted the access point on a working laptop, re-entered the password, and the old laptop connects okay. Still no joy with the new laptop. even on an open access point, it will not connect.

Edit: Airplane mode doesn't seem to do anything. I can still see Wi-Fi points.

I can't even see the wi-fi points. it just says that no connections are available and there is a small red circle with a white cross over the wi-fi icon.

There may be a Fn key that turns wifi on and off as you say. I think a call to PCS is probably your best bet now. They should be able to tell you whether there is a Fn key for wifi and/or help you get this sorted.

Did you guys buy the standard wifi card? If so there's drive problems with it on most laptops, so google how to fix it :)

Does sound like a driver problem, best bet would be to get in touch with PCS and they can guide you through a reinstall of the latest drivers for your particular card. Should be a quick fix.

Why would I google a fix when it is a warranty issue?
Contacted support, downloaded new drivers (Different card??) now works fine. Sorted!

Glad to hear it's sorted. Since others seem to have a similar issue could you post the details of the new driver you downloaded that fixed this problem for you?

Hey,

Having the same problem here.

Standard Realtek option on my order, Model RTL8723AE . - "GIGABIT LAN & WIRELESS 802.11N WI-FI CARD (150Mbps)"

Intermittent connection, sometimes completely unable to connect, sometimes limited connectivity. Have tested with other networks/routers and distances etc.. seems to be the card.

Also, has anyone noticed an issue with these Cosmos IIs being slow to register USB inputs?

I have e-mailed Pc-specialist support, will update this thread when I know more.
