Defective Sandy Bridge Chipset - Update 1

Just to confirm - the revised configurators are now available: http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/intel-computers/

The Performance Gen 2 Core™ Computers now use the H61 and H67 chipsets, and the Top Spec Gen 2 Core™ Computers use the P67 chipset. P67 is the fastest, H67 has integrated graphics and H61 is a lower performing chipset. Still very poweful, just less painful of the wallet...:)

Might be a numpty question, but sort of topical.

What exactly is the difference between the P67 and H67?

I've Googled etc but yet to find an "answer"...just lots of babble that I dont actually understand! :)

IIRC The H67 basically runs with integrated Graphics, where the p67 is for use with a seperate GPU...this is my understanding from a article ive just read though i may not be 100% correct

That's correct but there's one other important element - the P67 is also designed for overclocking K series chips.

As a broad generalisation, H is ideal for home use and P is power use - especially suited to gaming and graphics apps.

I like that pete, nice and simple analogy.

I think I was always going down the P67 route anyway, but like when anything new arrives, you just want to make sure!
