Very, very sad to hear this news, I'm sorry for your loss. He was an incredibly highly respected member on here, a very knowledgeable and likeable guy, liked universally as shown by his huge rep collection. The time he devoted to this community helped hundreds of people is indescribable, he'll be greatly missed.

Rest in Peace Vanthus

So sorry and sad to hear this news, my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Vanthus was such a kindly, knowledgeable and helpful person. He will be fondly remembered by me and the many others he has helped through these forums I am sure.

Rest in peace my friend!

I've only just seen this - I broke my hip last Wednesday and have only just got out of hospital. I don't know what to say, Vanthus was one of a number of contributors on here for whom I have a huge respect, I'd even say he was a giant amongst us mere mortals. He will be sadly missed. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. So sad.

Letter
Dear Sirs,

First of all please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in responding to your forum following the sad passing of my husband, known commonly as Vanthus.

Your thoughts and kind words of you and the many hundreds of followers to your forums were of a great comfort and solace to me and my family at a terrible time.

I was largely unaware of Manus's passion and contribution to your forum but i know that it gave him great pleasure being part of your community and I shall forever be grateful for the part you played in his fulfilment in life. Our family are all overwhelmed that you have named a computer in his memory.

Kind Regards,

Mrs. Sadie Rodgers

(Hopefully I have copied that word perfect without typo's).

It's clear that we can take nothing out of this world when we leave and so the best any of us can hope for is that we made a difference through being here. Vanthus made a difference, not because he helped so many people, though he has undoubtedly solved many computer issues for many many people, but because he was a friend to everyone. I hope it's some comfort to his family to know how much he was admired and respected on here.

So sad to hear about Vanthus, he helped me more than a few times with my PC troubles and as I am looking to get a new Desktop for my mother and sister I was keen to find him for assistance and then stumbled onto this. Such a shame he truly was an awesome guy, always more than happy to help. He will be missed by many.

My condolences to his family all though very late.
