Hi There,

I just got this annoying driver issue since i reformated my laptop a couple of months ago, I installed all the drivers provided by pcspecialists but there is always some trouble with the bluetooth server and cant get it fixed, I think the problem is that there are about four different drivers for the laptop but im not sure if i have to install them all or just a couple, each of these drivers are from a different developer (motorolla, intel, realtek and MTK), first i installed them all but the motorolla one started to crash when i shutted down the pc showing a memory error so i uninstalled it. To be honest i dont know if it was even nescesary but after that i got another driver installed automatically by windows (dont think it was the motorolla one coz i also uninstalled the intel one and it looks more like its that one) and it always shows an error on the device manager. I personally wouldnt bother to much with this but i use a couple of bluetooth devices quite often and sometimes the driver wont load at start wich is quite annoying, also i feel im not getting the right performance from the device due to the driver issue (eg. mouse slows down sometimes). First I would like to determine which are the right drivers for my chipset and then find out if its my istallation that is corrupted or something else, Im posting some pictures of what im seeing

Are you installing drivers from the downloads section of the website, or the DVD that came with the laptop?

I would install direct from the Clevo website personally as they'll be up to date drivers: goto www.clevo.com.tw and goto the services section, then downloads and enter your clevo model number.

You only want to install ONE driver dependent on your hardware. If you install all of them, they'll conflict and won't work.

Im installing from the downloads section ,, the DVD that came with the laptop was for Win8 Ive been already to the clevo website but they have different numbers that mine, mine is w355ss but they got like 5 variations of that series so i dont want to get the wrong ones,, also they are all for Windows 8  , about the driver conflict, it might be that though i never had a problem the first time i clean installed windows on this pc and im sure i installes more than one bluetooth/Wireless lan driver,,

If yours is the 15" Optimus then it's the W355SSQ, there's only one download section for it, but yes, there are only win 8 drivers available, although I would still try those as usually they're compatible with win 7.

Personally, I would start again as you'll have driver incompatibility issues from here on in. I'd firstly download all required drivers from clevo (only one driver for combo card, usually atheros chipset), then reinstall windows and drivers.

I understand your frustration but why the angry face? You surely can't expect vendors to keep supporting back-level versions of Windows? I realise that many people want to stay with Windows 7, but that choice has a price.....

I'm not trying to be rude or criticise, but this problem (lack of Windows 7 drivers) is only going to get worse.

The issue here was not the lack of drivers for Windows 7 but the fact that there are 4 of them for the same device/devices, consequently is a bit of a problem when you dont know which one is or are the right ones for the device. Also I must point out that this happened only the second time I installed win7, never happened the first time when i got the machine last year, perhaps pc specialist added another driver to the list which is not for my device but i cant tell which one.

As for my back-level version of windows,,, well I have opted to stay away from Windows 8/8.1, Sadly its interface is horrible and idiotic and that prevents me from getting it, even though its dirt cheap and probably is going get cheaper I'd rather skip it and get Windows 10 :)
