Caps lock notification keeps minimizing games.

Pretty much as the title says.

Looked for fixes online. Only real fix is the

"Press WinKey and type "regedit" > navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Widcomm > BTConfig > General > KeyIndication

Change the value of "KeyIndication" from "1" to "0"
Reboot.."

Problem I've got is that there is no Widcomm. Caps lock is really starting to annoy me, especially online games if you go to speak to people game minimizes...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If this is a PCS laptop have you installed the Hotkey driver/software? If not then do so.

Model is Cosmos II x580.

I wasn't aware I needed to download any hotkeys. I bought this laptop for gaming when it comes to software, hardware and anything else I'm a completely useless. What do the hotkeys do? And where do I download them from? Thanks a million! :sweatdrop:

Log into your pcs account and look in the downloads section. Hotkeys is a driver that enables the function keys and fan speeds/ keyboard lights etc.

hotkey is the software for all the Fn+* key combos (eg, Fn+F1 for me is touchpad on/off)
it SHOULD be just for key combinations and to properly use all the capabilities of your keyboard but somehow it's linked to a LOT ofperformance issues
long story short: install it or live with software conflitcs
you can download it from your account of PCS or from clevo's website

Sorry, I've been a tad busy of late. mrduckling and SpyderTracks have said what I'd have said. The Hotkey software/driver will either be on the CD/DVD PCS supplied with the laptop of you can download them from the PCS Website.

I've downloaded the hotkeys only option I had was to remove because modifying and repairing kept closing the programme. Now that I've removed the hotkeys the annoying pop up doesn't come up but the lights on the laptop work.

Spidertraks mentioned it affecting the fan? So if hotkeys are removed the fan won't work?

Again I apologise for being useless.

You need hotkeys installed or you'll get bsods regularly, and various things won't work properly. The issue you're describing was present on an older hotkeys versioin

Where did you download it from?

PcSpecialist customer support sent the link.

Now that it is removed, I don't get the annoying pop ups. Couldn't find the link elsewhere.

Problem does still persist after using PCS drivers. I am not sure what driver to download off the Clevo site? My laptop is the Cosmos II x580 but cant find any sort of reference for that in the download section... Any help? Again? Sorry! :sweatdrop:

If it's the 17" then the clevo model number is W670SZQ1

If it's the 15" then it's W650SF

You need the Hotkey driver and any other you haven't installed.

You can disable the Keyboard indicator by right clicking on the taskbar icon (near the clock) and unchecking the "K/B indicator" option :)
