Desktop for video and photo editing £2k budget

Hi there, this is a first time build for me. I've specced up this desktop for professional video and photo editing. I will be mainly using Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects and a bit of Indesign.

I'd like a balanced system which will render my film work quickly and allow me to process multiple actions at the same time. I also produce a lot of timelapse video which requires lots of processes on usually 300 or so images across Lightroom and Premiere Pro.

I have a 2k budget although I'd very much like to keep the costs down as much as possible.

I have a limited knowledge on computer hardware and overclocking so I'd really appreciate some feedback on the build!

Cheers

Hi Rakk, thanks for that! I thought there was a problem with the post as the last time I viewed it, it didn't seem to contain any information but seems all fine now. Cheers

It was because when you're new your posts often get auto-moderated which hides them from everyone except mods, and this also applies to edits of previously approved posts - so it would have appeared to be missing until it was approved - so you weren't just imagining things :)

Thanks for letting me know!

What is your storage solution as you have a very small amount in the system so I assume you use something else?

Top lines I would look at in your build would be EVO 850 SSD over V300 as it has serious performance issues. No need for hydro cooling unless you plan to push the overclock in which case get a better one, 2666MHz ram if you can as there is a good performance step up, 5930k if you ever want to add a second GPU as the 5820 only has 28 lanes as opposed to 40.

Can offer more if I know the storage option.

I'll be using my hdds from my current set up 2x 2tb for back up storage.

I've changed the ssd to the one you mentioned thanks for that.

I've got the option of the Corsair H100i CPU Cooler or the h60 in pc specialists configurator as it is an overclocked system.

Another option could be to get a 5820k not overclocked with a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO (120mm) Fan CPU Cooler and with the extra money upgrade the RAM to 32gb 2666MHz and instead of the GTX 970 I get the GTX 770.

What are your thoughts?

Cheers
