Noisy Hard Drive

So recently my second hard drive has started making a sort of clicking noise and is now not being read on the computer at all. I had gotten a previous error before where when I tried to turn on my PC it was stuck in a loop trying to fix itself and when I tried to restore to an earlier time it said my hard drive was locked. I've opened it up and it doesn't look like any of the wires have come loose, although I wouldn't really know what I'd be looking at. Any help is appreciated.

Note: I've sent an email to pcspecialist yesterday asking for help but got a small bit impatient and worried so I decided to come to the forums. Also PC runs fine with just the primary drive, which is a SSD, just the noise from the second drive stays for about 10 minutes after turning on.

I'd try to unplug it completely and plug it back in see if that makes any difference (might be able to get any data off it that way) - sounds as though the drive is on its way out though so you'll need a RMA from PCS - you can phone them for a quicker response than by email if that helps.

Yeah, I'll have to try that. I hope the drive isn't on its way out, it's less than a year old

Unfortunately it can happen with brand new drives - certainly sounds like it is if its rattling.

I guess you can check to make sure its secure to the hard drive cage its in.

Do PCS offer a warranty? I can't quiet remember if I'd gotten one or where I could find it and my PC isn't a year old yet

You always get a default one year warranty on parts and labour.
If you didn't take at least Silver however you will need to pay the courier charges.
