fan or liquid cooling

I'm gonna get a pc from pcspecialist once 980ti drops next month, I'm thinking of what the right kind of processor cooling I'd need. It's between the coolmaster fan and corsaid hydro series h80i GT

From people that have both what are your experiences with:

* What are the fan noises for both?
* I don't expect I'd need to OC my processor alot as I'm getting the 8 cores but would the coolmaster be good enough if I wanted to slightly tweak it?

Any advice regarding this would be appreciated.

It's the Intel i7 8 core on the list , no particular reason like I said it's only if I need to OC down the line I just want to make sure the fan I buy can handle it if I need to later.

Hi swiftjay,

The i7 CPUs we have available are able to run quite safely with an air cooler such as the CM 212 EVO at stock speeds.

However if you are wanting to overclock, I would definitely recommend an all-in-one hydro cooler. Fan noise is pretty quiet, but the hydro coolers are known to change in audibility according to which fan profile it is on (The H100i is quite notorious for this).

Thanks Dan, I'll take that into consideration and think about getting the H80i then if I want to OC it at a later date.
