Help with motherboard and CPU compatibility

Hello all, im new

I was wondering if the ASRock M3A UCC Motherboard would work with the AMD FX6300 [links removed]

The reason I wanted to upgrade my CPU because I think that my CPU was bottlenecking the graphics card, my current CPU is an AMD Phenom II X4 840 quad core 3.2GHz. And my graphics card is an Nivida Geforce GTX 760. If my graphics card isn't being bottlenecked, can somone say please.

AM3 supports Athlon II/Phenom II
AM3+ supports Athlon II/Phenom II/FX

Unfortunately your motherboard is socket AM3 and incompatible with FX chips.

Ah okay, do you think I should buy another motherboard and get the FX CPU, or get a better Athlon II/Phenom II CPU? (sorry if this makes no sense, i'm just guessing, i'm quite new to this ) Thankyou.

That's something you could check yourself by looking at benchmarks online.
