Ive had a cheap pc for awhile now, and i wanted to get a new one. I dont want to spend over £1625, and im not looking to overclock it either. Its going to be mainly used for gaming, and im going to be using it to play GTA V, and other games as well

Here are the specs, any advice would be wonderful. I think i dont really need to spend this much on certain things including the cooling, but overall im not sure on anything, all i want it to do is to be able to play games at very high settings.

Do you plan on using SLI? If so you would need a more powerful PSU and yeah, you wouldn't need to spend that much on cooling (The cooler master evo fan would be more than fine) but for a fraction of the price you could get something like this for a single GPU system. An i5 would be more than fine for gaming :)

I agree with this spec although I think an i7 would help you more in the future. It would also help with GTA V since some of the advanced graphics settings are quite CPU intensive. My i5 has a lot of lag when dealing with background processes due to GTA V. I also think 16GB of RAM would be better in the future and would also help with GTA V, since it uses up about 6GB alone. You could include arctic thermal paste if you wanted a slightly cooler CPU - might as well (you have a massive budget). What resolution will you be playing at? You should easily be able to max GTA V at 1080p with this setup.

Ok, i would be playing at 1080p, however im thinking of getting a 144hz monitor, would this affect performance in any way, i dont know much about 144hz monitors.

It would not affect performance. 144Hz means that the screen refreshes 144 times per second - obviously this is better than 60Hz and makes the picture on your monitor look and feel smoother. People make the common mistake that more fps = smoother. This does make it smoother, but only up to a point. This is because a 60Hz monitor can only display a maximum of 60fps - anything above this will not have any impact on the smoothness of the game. The same goes for 144Hz monitors (they can only display a maximum of 144fps, anything above that won't make a difference). I don't think it's worth getting a 144Hz monitor; they cost a lot and you probably won't get much more than 60fps on demanding games on ultra settings, making the extra refresh rate useless. It only becomes useful if you turn down settings to get a higher fps.

Thanks for that, I really appreciate it :)
