Any problems with this setup?

Am I going overkill with this setup? I don't intend on playing anything more demanding than GTA V, but would like peace of mind that I have reserve power. Am I spending money unnecessarily? It's my first build and I'm no expert. Any problems? Thanks

Thanks. I hope to place my order in the next few weeks. Would there be any problems if i added 16GB of ram instead of 8? I multitask alot and do some light video editing and animation.

Just cost, but it's not that much more if you're willing to go slightly over budget... an alternative would be to order with 8gb and stick another 8gb in yourself when you have the funds in the future.

When you say "I don't intend on playing anything more demanding than GTA V", it should be noted that there is almost no game as demanding as GTAV on max settings... maybe Witcher 3, and that's about it.

8GB is the recommended RAM for GTA V, so i'll stick with 8GB for now. I can always add more memory in future if needed, as mentioned. Thanks

8GB will be fine if you're not doing too much in the background while playing GTA. On it's own people have seen it use up to 6GB.

I'm quite OCD in that respect, i always HAVE to close every other program before i play a game, but i guess that's from using low-end systems all my life. 16GB would eliminate this need i guess. I'll decide between 8gb snd 16 when i order in a few weeks. Only £40 or so in difference.

It should be fine with a few programs but nothing too intensive. I'd definitely recommend 16GB if you ever wanted to stream or maybe even record gameplay.
