Single stick of 8Gb Hyper x fury ...?

Hi

I am a bit confused as to why PCS are only supplying 8Gb Hyper x as a single stick ??? Surely it is better to run 2 x 4gb sticks in dual channel as would still have 2 slots free for future upgrades... or is there not really that much loss in performance?

Cheers Kev

I think most users wont notice a loss in performance. It also makes it easier to expand on the amount of memory in the future with additional slots...

There is no difference in performance. For Gaming anyway.
You're better with a single 8GB because then you have 3 slots for additional 8GB Ram.

4GB x 4 = 16GB
8GB x 4 = 32GB

I would assume that is the reason why.

It doesn't make much of an impact to have a single stick in dual channel mode, you can google the performance hit, but it's very minimal.

You would only notice the loss of performance if you were running an APU, otherwise it is within the margin of error of most tests.
