Hi all
I have an Acer Inspire 5749 laptop with a standard DVD-Super Multi DL Drive.
For some reason, this drive will not read any discs that I put into it. The disc whirrs away but then goes quiet and nothing comes up under /my computer.
I bought an external CD/DVD player but have the same issue. The disc whirrs away but then goes quiet and nothing shows under /my computer.
I have looked under Device manager and checked all driver software is up to date (which it is). I have tried different discs and cleaned them etc but to no effect. The device manager recognises the external drive it present too but this doesn't seem to have made any difference.
My laptop doesn't seem to want to do anything with CD/DVDs either with it's internal player, OR the external one. (No error messages of any sort have come up for either)
Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
