Wanting to replace existing Ubuntu (ex Vista based) Desktop PC. Main use is internet, office work plus some video, audio conversion to mp3 & mp4.

Any problems with or improvements to the following spec would be greatly appreciated.

That looks decent for what you want to use it for :)
From what I've read from your specs, it should be reasonably well supported - just double check your ASUS® H81I-PLUS motherboard and linux compatibility issues... and you should be good to go.

Many thanks for your advice especially about the Asus motherboard would the Z81 be a better option?

Now considering Intel NUC mini pc as alternative as intel mboard rather than Asus in original spec. Anyone used this pc with Ubuntu?
