i7 4720HQ Clock Speed? Deffiance 15

? My top speed should be 3.5 GHz but task manager and CPU Z say the top GHz is 2.6GHz, yet task manager shows lots of Hz above 2.5 GHz. Is this normal?

with turbo boost it should go to 3.6 Ghz. Are you stressing the CPU when checking CPUz?

As well as that (ie. you have to stress it get it to turbo boost), also remember that 3.6GHz is the max it could reach but it is dependent on temperature and number of cores used (from an article I read: Each core offers a base speed of 2.6 GHz but can dynamically increase clock rates with Turbo Boost up to 3.4 GHz (for 4 active cores), 3.5 GHz (for 2 active cores) and 3.6 GHz (for 1 active core))
