Ethernet-wireless problem

I use wireless contention on my laptop but recently tried an extender with an Ethernet connection it worked OK.
I have since removed it but now I keep getting a NO wireless connected message.
I have to go to control panel and click on internet connection then click on the LAN button, and restart ,this usefully works ,but is frustrating
any ideas how to stop the Ethernet opening.

Go to your start button, then computer,network,network and sharing center,change adapter settings,right click local area connection and disable it.
