15.6" Defiance II - Does it work with Ubuntu, Fedora, or Suse?

Hi Guys,

I am so glad that I've found this forum!

I am planning to buy a laptop from PcSpecialist but I want to run either Ubuntu, Fedora, or Suse on it, but as many others wrote on the forum, I got a warning message that the specs I chose might not work with Linux.

Anyone have experience with the config below? Are there any difficulties during install/usage? I do not plan to create a dual boot system with windows. Linux will be the only OS.

I'm about to purchase a similar specification laptop on which I intend to run Linux (specifically Arch Linux). Interested to hear from those that have already done this.

Thanks for sharing Stephen, your experience is very encouraging. I've just placed an order for a Defiance II. I opted for the Samsung Evo SSD instead of an M.2 for the boot partition (in the hope that it will be more compatible and straight forward to install Linux). I'm really hoping the install will be hassle free, as in it will boot from a flash drive and install to the SSD. I'm not terribly worried about the function keys (volume up/down, brightness, etc...), so long as the install works.
