Here is a short review of my new computer
First, the specs:
So far it's a really great computer, handles playing Ark on pretty high settings, running multiple virtual machines while having multiple IntelliJ projects open. Haven't done anything yet where it wasn't just breezing through it :shuriken:
The keyboard is great for a laptop keyboard, enough resistance to make it feel like you press a button, but not so much that it requires any force to press. And it have a nice backlight you can adjust the brightness of with a shortcut.
Another great thing is that the backside of the computer is the power socket, 1 usb and the fan outlet. That means no more annoying cables on the side when I'm sitting and working with my mouse connected, and I can sit besides people without burning their hands xD
And it's great to have skipped Windows 8 completely, it really is true Microsoft has a pattern going on with one bad and one good OS xD
Actually the only thing I'm not that happy about is that it would have been great to have been warned that some of the stuff in this pc isn't supported that well on Linux :/ I use Linux for all my development (which is 90% of what I do), so I spend a week or so getting Linux installed :/
It wasn't really liking the gfx card when booting into a linux installation (had to boot with `nomodeset`). And as far as I know there isn't any drivers at all for the WiFi adapter in this pc. To be honest, I have no clue how I got it working :/
First I tried installing Arch Linux, spend a day or two on that, but gave up as it was more than hell to find/compile/install/configure drivers for hardware that isn't really supported xD
What I ended up with was installing Kubuntu, it could find some working drivers for the gfx card, but I still had to spend some days trying a million things to get the WiFi driver working :/
So to close off, it's a really awesome computer....... for Windows use, and would love to have seen some information about Linux support before buying
